Hi On my phone I have commentary on Discovery of the track events via EuroSport but on laptop with exactly the same stream no commentary just Kath Merry muffled in background. Anyone know how I get around this?

GB definitely in with a chance of a medal in the Mixed 4x400m - the 4th fastest qualifiers.
Will be interesting to see which teams add any of their quicker names.
Netherlands - Femke Bol
Jamaica - McPherson, Gaye
Poland - Swiety-Ersetic
GB - Jodie Williams👍 1Comment

it's confusing: they have an ad-free commentary-free stream and a stream with commentary. Try looking under All sports / Athletics.Comment

Runny your comments ... 'the BBC don’t have the same rights as they had before - so yes it is the worst coverage from them but that is because they don’t have the rights - Discovery do and use Eurosport. BBC coverage for Olympics used to be good.'
It seems to me the 'rights' have nothing to do with the choice of what the BBC have chosen to show in the last hour ... while I had to read this forum to know what was happening in the w5000m - BBC were showing women's football (GBR vs Aus) and a mix of rugby/judo/golf ... they are now showing the M10 000m is that because they have the 'rights' to show this now 'LIVE', or, they choose to show this?
I dont have Eurosport, as I only use Freeview, I have an old laptop that struggles to show any video without buffering, I dont know what a 'VPN' is and I am probably the last person on the planet without a mobile phone, so no 'apps' ... I despair, and its not just athletics, the beeb are not showing the heats of the swimming - in fact haven't done live all week for the most part.
I am forced to pay £13.37 p/m, to support their 'diversity and inclusion' political agenda, but they show nothing but contempt for the 'minority group' I belong to ...

I don’t think any you get it - the BBC aren’t allowed to show what they want - Eurosport/Discovery are keeping the best events for themselves. The BBC aren’t able to choose what they want to show. Discovery are quite rightly from a business point of view, keeping the largest audience sport ( athletics ) for their customers first. -
The BBC aren’t saying too much about what they can and can’t do as they don’t want to sign post people to pay for discovery. Hence why lots of events are shown after the event. Eurosport is best to watch things live - I’ve watched things on Eurosport only for the bbc to say the action is still to come - we can’t blame the bbc - it the ioc and business to blame. https://www.wired.co.uk/article/toky...s-bbc-coverage

Selemon BAREGA is 21 years old. What a fantastic run. He has not always had the respect he deserves. He was silver medallist in Doha when his age mate Ingebritsen came 5th (and Jakob took up too much space on this thread) and now Barega is Olympic Champion. Awesome performance.Comment

Possibly missed on an otherwise shaky day, 50.4 & 50.1 for Zoey Clark & Emily Diamond are good signs. 50.2 & 49.9 for Baumgart-Witan & Holub-Kowalik, so Poland also look very swift for the 4x4. Lisanne de Witte 50.3 so the Dutch have three strong legs. Paulino the fastest among women (49.60). Best male split appears to be 44.3 from Ramsey Angela - The dutch will be on the medal podium imo.Comment

My sympathies to those of you struggling to view the events you want... Australian TV is also annoying despite having two channels most of the time ; but we are fortunate enough to also have a streaming app they have made available (free !) on which almost anything can be found with a little bit of chasing around. Only problem is what to watch when several desirable events are on at once . Huge advance on past Olympics. Do you fellows not have anything similar ?Comment
