Charlotte Worthington has guaranteed a medal, and is leading with 2 riders to go in BMX Freestyle. She fell on run one, but then threw in a trick on run 2 that had never been competed in competition to take the gold medal position. Ballsy move.

I know that a couple of days ago a good number of our sailors were in medal positions in the standings then but I don't think the relevant categories have reached the medal race quite yet.

Of course, the best way to not come across as hysterical is to write a lengthy slightly hysterical post

Yeah, I doubt he'll final but if he can beat the French lad that will get the bronze.

Pat retains the bragging rights in the McCormack family home, as brother Luke loses to Cuba's Andy Cruz in his last 16 match. Cruz looks like another in a long line of top notch Cuban boxers.

NZ definitely the best team out there but France are no mugs. They are solid in women's 7s (compared to the men's where they are awful). Absolutely the right final.

Can't stop those Fijians ... gold and bronze from the two events. Good for them. Think NZ have this final...

Being a stubborn chap I will try again to comment on the medley relay.

Was a great performance. Guy was brilliant. If he can repeat that form tomorrow the men will fancy their chances , I think. Hopkin will also be glad she gave up the 50 free to concentrate on that : she was given a nice lead but had some big names chasing her and held them all off really well - never in doubt !

Hope this version passes the censors...

Yafai had a arrow escape then ! Was sweating on the decision after that last round : though how three judges failed to give him the second round is totally beyond me ! Deserved the win but might need to be more careful next round.

With a Gold / WR in the swimming mixed medley, maybe the mixed events will be the ones for us - an omen for the X4x400m later? 👀
