    Hmmm....

BTW Pierre, how would you describe the events that occurred on Jan 6th, just out of interest? At the American capitol?

Yeah, that's a load of actual nonsense. But then again, what else is new with Pierre. Blocked.

I can't believe we're having this discussion on an athletics forum btw. Oooof.

I don't care about nuanced criticism of a nation. I care about the nearly genocidal hatred of a nation and its people, as exhibited by "philipo". And I'm Swedish, so I have no idea why you call me a "MAGA-chud" (we don't have "MAGA" here) and " ultra-rightwing conservative". Is it because I'm against BLM rioters and anarcho-communist terrorists? That just makes me a moderate who's against violence.

If you have been against "philipo's" disgusting behaviour for so long, why did you not call him out when he called Americans ""the mentally challenged lunatics in the United States", "arrogant nasty dickheads", "sickos", " the USA population is made up of a vast number of crazy people, ignorant, fanatical, insular in I [sic] the extreme", "gun mad, racist, fascist police, un democratic [sic]", etc. the other day? Instead you started to question ME on my politics. My whole point is that there should NO politics in athletics and there should be NO politics here. That's why I oppose BLM:s influence on athletics and "philipo's" rants on this forum.

Time to get some perspective Pierre. Still suffering from mid-somar madness?

First of all, it's midsommar. If you're going to try to be funny at my expense, at least try to get it right. Secondly, you shouldn't defend people when they are unfairly attacked by contemptible people like "philipo" and "RunUnlimited"?

USATF has announced its roster for the Tokyo Olympics. Sha’Carri Richardson has not been named to the women’s 4x100m relay pool. Gabby Thomas, English Gardner and Aleia Hobbs were listed for the 4x100m relay pool.

Without Richardson, Jamaica will have to screw up in order NOT to win. Fight between Britain and US for the silver medal. Switzerland possible medalist if JA, US or GB makes a mistake.

    As was likely to happen.

I still think the US team is very strong but not enough to compete with Jamaica given the amazing times theure running individually. Do you think we could see a new WR?

            To keep on track!

I read on another forum that Sha,Carri wanted to still be included in the relay ( as I guess even a relay gold medal would boost her marketability and legacy) but there was arguments between her, her coach and the relay coach to guarantee her the anchor leg (which the relay coach was declining).

Still thing they'll take the gold though.

But of course after seeing Elaine run yesterday, its going to be a fight and WR to take??

I wouldn't have thought shed be allowed to train with the team during her suspension and there's a limit to how much real work can be done once the champs begins and people are racing. 1 or 4 would seem to make the most sense from a baton safety point of view. Given that the start is probably the weaker part of her race, 4 seems logical.

Can't believe I'm siding with Mitchell... it's a sad day

Yes, she can't train with the team during her suspension which would make including her a bit risky.

It worries me that they were contemplating breaking their own rules for her, but at least the relay coach was holding firm on leg choices

I believe they're a bit more flexible on relay squads than they are with solo spots anyway.

Perhaps though a good lesson, these things have immediate consequences and knock on effects too

I think she should still be banned as 'rules are rules' - however, it needs to be looked at and scrapped. Or add alcohol to the list as well.

I really feel for her, how on earth can we get on our high horses as a community and basically be like "i'd never do that"

From what I know, not an easy ride for the girl, was probably exposed to weed like most of us are introduced to alcohol at an early age, thus removing most stigma; losing any family member is enough for someone to momentarily go "f*ck it" for a few minutes.

I don't think many are really judging her for using weed. I think most people who actually care about the sport are judging her for breaking the rules that all subscribe to in the interests of competition and - perhaps more than anything else - are annoyed at the outcry that has come (mostly from those outside the sport) who want to see those rules ignored.

Should cigarette smoking be banned as it is surely just as dangerous. Fortunately 99 per cent athletes dont smoke .

Tbh I don’t give a fig about whether it’s a just or unjust ban. There’s lists, stick to them. If it says don’t eat apples, don’t eat apples
