In case you missed it, in the men's Dominic Nolan won in his first 10000 in 29.13.70. Joshua Grace 1.34 behind, better on the roads. Calum Johnson and Nigel Martin closely following.

According to the event's website it was a +1.4 tailwind. But probably Imani was a better judge of it than the data-entry guy.

Asha was some way behind Imani in this race. But it will always have been her plan to peak exactly twice this year: the trials final; and the other one will be the Olympic `quarter-finals' race.
    ...so not yesterday in Belgium.

Saying he broke 20 8 years ago means genuinely nothing... You might as well say that the fact that Holly Bradshaw broke 4.80m for the first time in 2012 has relevance. It doesn't at all, and you know it. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

    Mystery,
I never said that a quote by you about Gemili and what he did 5 years ago was incorrect; you know full well what you are twisting. I mentioned what he did eight years ago (read the post) and did not make further reference to what happenened in the following years.I consider his best years are over, as some may do here, but you write meaninglessly as far as i can see.
if Gemili does not get in the final, in Tokyo, and runs around the 20.2 to 20.40 you will make it out to be a success, perhaps. We will all see in due course..

Not much to report from Waltham Forest 10000m England Champs with Mhairi Maclennan winning in 33.09.62 over 23yo Hannah Irwin 16.41 behind. Seems like Arter and Nesbitt were DNS.

Also other one for the chips off the old block thread with Dad Andy being a Commonwealth champion.

It's easy to forget that the English Schools champs have been progressing since yesterday (not televised unfortunately, like they used to be) and via Ian Hodge's Twitter, Sophie Ashurst won the senior girl's pole vault title with a new championship record and PB of 4.21 m. On the eve of the European U20's, that's put her into 3rd among European teenage athletes this season, and is also the 5th best UK U20 height of all time.

I hadn’t picked up about Dustin. A worry.

Ian Hodge is reporting on his twitter that 'British champs bronze medallist @loralski (Lorraine Ugen) found top form last night back in Marietta, jumping 6.89 (1.0) with three 7m jumpers from 2021 behind her.'

If she can replicate that in Tokyo she might not be farr off the medal 'conversation' ...

He’s entered in the mile in Gateshead as well. He did run quite a few races over a short time period indoors culminating in that British record

No sign of Dustin, his name disappeared from the Monaco start lists a few days ago and he’s not currently listed for Gateshead, hope there isn’t a problem there

Agree. He needs to stop and do a training block or he'll be like an NCAA athlete at the end of a long season!
Working...
