Well, that's that for the meeting. The remaining events, including the men's 100m, the final of the 110m hurdles and 200m, along with the women's triple jump, 100m hurdles and 200m, along with the 4x400m relay, have all being canceled due to the extreme weather conditions in the Geneva area.
There's going to be a bunch of very disappointed athletes who came all the way here that were denied an opportunity to get good times/distances for qualifying purposes or at least to show some good form, Charlie Dobson for instance in the 200m, and Georgina Adam, Finette Agyapong and Shannon Hylton in the women's equivalent.
There were some good performances though, including that Italian national 400m record from Davide Re, and Charlie Myers getting an 11cm PB, equaling the UK U-23 record and the World Championship qualifying standard (5.71m) in the pole vault.

Well then, looks like the "perfect weather" from earlier has disappeared.... A thunderstorm and high winds is sweeping through the stadium and sending marques and advertising hordings flying, while athletes and spectators scramble for cover!

Men's 110m Hurdles coming up, with Jason Nicholson, a World Junior finalist last year in Tampere and now in his first season as an U-23 with the senior height hurdles, looking to lower his personal best substantially (14.38 with the senior hurdles). He goes in the 3rd and final heat.Last edited by RunUnlimited; 15-06-19, 14:16.

With the aid of this link, I can now confirm some of the results I could do earlier.
In the 2nd 400m heat, Cameron Chalmers, older brother of hurdler Alastair, wins it in a significant season's best of 46.04, well under the UKA qualifying requirement for the European U-23's in Gavle next month.
Meanwhile in the women's 400m heat featuring Amber Anning, her time was confirmed at 52.64, a big personal best for the 18 year old, further confirming herself as a leading contender for the European U-20's in Boras, Sweden in July, the time taking her top of this year's European U-20 rankings.Last edited by RunUnlimited; 15-06-19, 13:51.

Davide Re's time corrected to a frustratingly close 45.01.

I'm disappointed that the commentator didn't do an Ortis Deley there - "The fastest man on no legs".

btw ... are you sure you mean Amber Anning 'Having set a UK indoor 400m record this winter' .... surely at the very least, the great Nicola Sanders went faster than that?

Men's 400m now. 1st heat features Italian #1 Davide Re.... And he smashes his personal best with a 45.05 run, pulling away from Dutchman Bonavecia and Agard of France over the closing 100m, looking delighted with his time.

that's what I thought you might meant... anyway, great run from her for a PB it seems and thanks for the continual updates ... you are almost singularly keeping this forum alive!
