Because May is the new June, for results that is.

Ellie Baker becomes the *sixth* British woman to go sub 2 mins this year, comin second to Renelle Lamote's season's best 1:58.65, however' Baker's PB time of 1:59.54 is agonizingly outside of the Olympic qualifying standard of 1:59.50.

How many opportunities will she have before UK champs? She's raced a lot recently (Thursday, Saturday, today) so can't keep going like this forever.

A very impressive outing from Andrew Pozzi in the 110m hurdles in Montreiul, as he lead from the first hurdle to the last and won in 13.26 (+0.5 m/s) a new European leading time and an Olympic qualifying time too! Excellent stuff!

20.81 Shot PB for Scott Lincoln, takes him only 29cm off the Olympic standard and an agonising 7cm off the British Athletics Olympic Standard. Hope he gets it!

Win for Rowden at Goteborg in 1:45, looking like he was out for a walk. And then a big PB for Revée Walcott-Nolan in the 1500m, down to 4:08.28

              Can't help feeling that Round 2, Clause 1.9.ii.b and Round 4 Clause 1.ii. b are going to be important to some GB athletes as far as OG Team selection is concerned;

Seconded. Its been a while since we expected 20+ from a British putter as we now do from him. Longest by a Brit for 13 years. If you look at his social media and see some of the conditions he trains in, you have to wonder what he might have achieved in a more throws oriented environment.

While all the attention was either focused on events in Sweden, Italy or Portugal with our British athletes, one undoubted star of the indoor season opened his account for the summer season in a low key local event in London, called the Wimbeldon Middle Distance Night.

Elliot Giles, he of the second fastest indoor 800m in history in Feburary on the same Torun track that would host the European Indoor Championships in March, won the final race of the evening over the longer distance of 1500m, coming home convincingly in 3:40.36. According to his Po10 page, it was only his second 1500m race outdoors since 2018 and is an outdoor PB, though he had run 3:36 and bits this year indoors.

(Credit goes to Jon Mulkeen for mentioning this meet on his Twitter page)

( The results from the meeting can be found here.... https://data.opentrack.run/en-gb/x/2...istherc/event/ )

( Thanks to MysteryBrick for pointing out that not all of those following behind Giles were U20s... When you click on the athete's name on the results page, they were all classifed as U20s... info removed. )

I can confirm that most of the rest of the field were not U20s - e.g. Phil Crout is in the final year of a PhD at Cambridge! Still a good run from Giles

It's been a bit of habit of mine to trawl the Po10 results - so good find RunUnlimited. I note that Lea Valley Hurdles Fest (from Monday) results are up now which includes that SB by Meghan Beesley.

Anyone know why Laviai Nielsen was DNF at Samorin last night? I hope nothing too concerning!

BIG PB from Aimee Pratt in the 3000m steeplechase in Spain today - 9:25.89 puts her top of the UK rankings this year, 2nd on the UK all-time list and gives her an Olympic qualifying standard. Fab job!

Aimee Pratt is a gutsy lass!

Just need to make it a full house in the W Steeple now. Come on, Rosie Clarke. Get your act together!

A British outdoor record. Or as I prefer to call it, a British record.

                          Well done Holly.
