Well, that is two of my three most concerning 'MIA' competing in low key events in one night .... just need the third now, KJT, to finally appear .
carter , have you been scanning the swimmig news from Australia and also USA.

I cant imagine what it must be like to be so closely involved in, one can argue, the most anticipated race of the trials ... A place in the final and a PB will be great achievements. Can you sort out the men's 400 while you are at it

In 2018 he went from 10.39 to 10.04 2 weeks later. If he manages something similar, he's on the plane.

Needs to find at least 2 tenths in 2 weeks - he has the quality to, does he have the fitness?

Great to see him back and doing 2 races. Must be his first 200 for a number of years

It was that last stat that makes this news quite significant beyond being an Olympic qualifier. Before this he seemed to be stuck in a certain amount of limbo between not having any real domestic opposition and being able to get in the really high-class competitions.

He's going to need to do a lot better than that.

Women’s 400 is stressing me out hahahaha

    its absolutely on fire

4 with qualifier, so expect 3 places to be filled, and a great relay team

There were few finer sights in athletics, in my view, than Donna Fraser stretching out along the back straight - so that is a might big claim, RunUnlimited. But I agree, the w400 is going to be a highlight of the champs, especially now they have returned to just two rounds...

I said she was due a rewrite of her PB but wasn't exepcting two in one week ...
Have just watched the race on YouTube (thanks to the ever-reliable links provided by LuckySpikes!) and Ama Pipi was very impressive in her run, especially the closing 80-90m where she powered through the field and won by a comfortable margin. Kinda reminded me of Donna Fraser in the Sydney Olympic 400m final as she stormed to a sub 50 second time and 4th place.

All of a sudden, the women's 400m is looking pretty competitive now. Pipi now joins Yeargin and Williams with attaining the Oly standard and with the likes of Nielsen, Anning, Liverpool running regularly sub 52 this season, and Zoe Clarke and Emily Diamond going sub 52 themselves in the last week too, there could be by the British Championships, 4 or 5 runners with the required standard. It would be pretty amazing if GB could send a full quota of 3 athletes in the 400m to Tokyo - a rather striking contrast to the men's side of things certainly.

With his poor results this year I don't think UKA would accept an invitation for Duckworth unless he gets the actual standard at the trials, which may be a challenge

Well done Ama. Didn't see that coming.
