When she or Alyson Felix or Dina or KJT talk about the issues of race they are sharing their lived experiences of the impact of deep-rooted inequality, to an audience who can choose to listen and learn, or not.

When commenting (whilst black) or telling your story as a black person is labelled "black nationalism", there's a problem and it isn't theirs! Sha'Carri is 21 years old and has a personality, be grateful.
LOL I note that you didn't mention the fact that she's coached by a doper, who also coaches a certain Justin Gatlin. Not a big problem, eh? Regarding my comment about her being a black nationalist: I've followed her on Twitter for a while, and she's barely distinguishable from a rabid Black Hebrew Israelite or Nation of Islam nutcase. But black people can't be racist, right? Thanks for the good laugh, "LoveSprints1".

I had no idea people couldn't leave that "appalling country", if they felt it was that terrible. It seems (I'm probably wrong) like it's the other way around, i.e. that the US can't keep people out. Weird for a "second world" country that is "appalling" and not "civilised" to have a problem with millions upon millions of people (illegal AND legal immigrants) trying to get there. Must be a first in history! But she has my respect. Being forced to stay in a country is indeed appalling.

The USA was indeed peopled by immigrants from all over the world who faced poverty and pogroms amongst other reason; doesnt make the country civilised particularly; and the poor sods from South and Central American countries have been pissed on by USA government foreign policy, and your loused up congress, for many decades, bullying, the frigging Monroe doctrine, the support by America of every corrupt, fascist right wing militay thug dictatorship that has done Americas bidding forpersonal benefit ; read some history and do yourself a favour.

You did not refute a single point I made in my post... Are "oppressed" black people forced to stay in that "appalling" nation, or can they leave for a less "appalling" nation whenever they want? Are people from all around the world (including many of the best and brightest people from every DEVELOPED nation in the world) moving there in droves? You did, however, go on a loony, barely literate, far-left, anti-American rant. You whine about "stupid nasty" people and "maniacs" on LetsRun, but I would recommend that you look yourself in the mirror. You are all of those things.

With regard to the Monroe Doctrine, it was set up in the 19th century to stop European nations from interfering in the affairs of the "New World". I understand that sentiment, but I happen to believe that the US should've stayed out of the affairs of Latin America, and let ALL countries of Latin America become as wonderful as the Socialist paradises of Venezuela and Cuba.

And, by the way, "your loused up congress (sic)"? I'm not American. Stop being awful, "philipo".

          Hugs and kisses!

The fact that you're putting oppressed as "oppressed" just sums up how out of touch you are and how much little understanding you have.

Enjoy bashing one out to Tommy Robinson videos with your All Lives Matter rhetoric, people with a brain cell don't want to entertain you.

Well, if you think black Americans are oppressed, other than by (other black) gang bangers and the corrupt politicians they elect, you are a moron. I have nothing to do with Tommy Robinson (he was right about the "Asian" rape gangs, though), but all lives DO matter, so you're right about that. I'm Swedish, by the way.

There will be a lot of Black Power fists on the podium in Tokyo. And all of a sudden these discussions will be ON topic.

Domestically, there is meant to be some good quality races at Birmingham uni tomorrow evening (though I believe the F400 has had a few drop outs).

There is also a race this weekend at the Coventry track for elite 400m, but again not sure on who will actually turn up to race.

A fair few athletes entered a lot of the races early in anticipation of maybe going to the world relays and getting a run out i advance (some of our WR squad haven't raced since 2019 etc)

a person who thinks his country is appalling on so many issues does not need to leave that country, just try to make it better; I read letsrun Mb but am not a member, but i am fascinated by the pr*cks who post there; probably a place for you, Pierre.

Well, it takes one to know one, I guess.

I can say one thing with certainty: if I were oppressed by a rotten to the core, appalling, racist, hellhole country, I'd stay there. It's the right thing to do, you know. To help that rotten country that oppresses me. Also, there are no majority black countries that I can move to. They simply don't exist.

Didn't you say you were going to "get back to athletics"? What does that deranged anti-American rant have to do with athletics?

James Ellington is due to compete at the BFTTA Open meeting this Sunday. I follow him quite closely on social media, he seems very confident of going to the Olympics this year, and is in the sort of shape he was in 2016 if not better; he's in the V35 category now!

I hope he doesn't get derailed by a slow clocking, I want to see how his season unfolds even if it's not the Olympic Games, there could well be other opportunities.

Will be very interesting to see what he opens up with, if he does make it - I'll be backing what he says will be one of the biggest sporting comebacks ever. Good luck to him.

Things are starting to pick up with an early start to the season for some of our athletes!

Muir, Reekie, McColgan & Markovc are amongst the Brits in action in Eugene tomorrow. Tonight Aimee Pratt & Lizzie Bird run the Steeple at the Drake Relays with some of our hurdlers competing there tomorrow, and this weekend Holly Mills is at the Multistars WA Challenge meeting in Italy.

Gateshead has 11800 but is doing the WA a favour.

Good season openers for Aimee Pratt & Lizzie Bird in the Steeple last night at the Drake Relays.

Pratt was 2nd in 9:35.34 behind Leah Falland (nee O'Connor), 9:32.53. Bird was 5th in 9:38.25.

Elise Thorner, a first-year U23 (and collegian at New Mexico) ran 9:52.90, taking 55s off her PB from 2019 (no Steeples in 2020).
