    Looks like the DL opener scheduled for Rabat next month is being rescheduled for Gateshead, and with fans!

    Sportsmail understands it will be confirmed on Friday that Gateshead has stepped in to stage the opening Diamond League event after plans to host it in Morocco were shelved because of Covid issues.

      Love that there is going to be an event back at Gateshead, used to love watching them.
      Was actually the 1st place one of my athletes was ever invited to (was the grand Prix back then) and tbf Joel loved the experience.

      Always used to get good crowds as well, as opposed to Birmingham, which has become a bit apathetic

      Of course, Birmingham's stadium is a building site at the moment.

      12.89 wind legal SB for Cindy Sember, Tiffany just behind her again.

      SB 6.57 for Jaz Sawyers.

      49.22 now for Mboma - not sure if it's the same track as the earlier run.

        It was in Windhoek. Masilingi came second in 50.05. By the way her last effort in Lusaka was Zambia's first ever international athletics meet.

          God damn! Mu is a talent alright!

          Mu goes straight into the world top ten fastest U-20 800m outdoor runners of all time list (8th) with her 1:57.73 NCAA record clocking at Waco, Texas. Outstanding stuff!

            22.11 (+1.0) on a wet track by Sha’Carri Richardson the other day. She's a pretty radical black nationalist and is coached by Dennis Mitchell, so I can't say I'm a big fan. But they'll have to be VERY good if they want to beat her in Tokyo.

              Mu is not yet 19 years old; a talent for sure , but what I note is, if some American freaky athletic improvement happens, as it does frequently, there is the usual cheering, especially across the Pond , but if an African athlete comes out of the woodwork as has just happened in Zambia, there is the usual screaming about drugs, short tracks etc etc from the posters on American sites, not only on the maniacs site, Letsrun,com, but less exaggerated, but present, on the self important T and F news Forum;

                    So you're saying there's hypocrisy in the world!? I'm shocked! Luckily, it only seems to afflict those gosh darn Americans.

                      For those who missed other results from Australia, Stewie McSweyn goes done to Jye Edwards in the 1500m but it took a 3:33.99 to beat him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uJ6M980kx0

                      Nicola McDermott became the first Australian woman in history to clear 2.00m in the high jump

                      15 year old Claudia Hollingsworth ran 2:01.75 in the 800m but was 2nd to Catriona Bisset who won in 2:00.45

                      The results can be found on the Athletics Australia website covering all the 7 days ( and the last day Monday 18th). The Championships were held for all age groups under 14 upward. http://athletics.resultshub.com.au

                        Sorry @PierreJohansson, what exactly is a "pretty radical black nationalist"?
                        Sha'Carri is a young, black woman using her platform, just as Dina Asher-Smith does. Sha'Carri is also very witty at putting down trolls. She takes no prisoners. When she or Alyson Felix or Dina or KJT talk about the issues of race they are sharing their lived experiences of the impact of deep-rooted inequality, to an audience who can choose to listen and learn, or not.

                        When commenting (whilst black) or telling your story as a black person is labelled "black nationalism", there's a problem and it isn't theirs! Sha'Carri is 21 years old and has a personality, be grateful.

                          Was going to comment the same thing. Comments like that are a huge problem and language like that being used only contributes to this toxic narrative.

                          Would love to know what she's done in regards to fighting racism that is in any way radical.

                          People need to stop feeling threatened by successful black people.

                          "JamieSLA":

                          Telling the truth can never be "a huge problem". I call out all people with bad, hateful ideas regardless of their race. That last line about "feeling threatened by successful black people" is just silly. So many of my favorite athletes, musicians, economists, etc. are/were black. Most of them don't/didn't hate white people and the police (and I'm, of course, not saying ALL police officers are good people), though.

                          Personally, i have little interest in Richardson's views as a young black person, except to sympathise with her living in that appalling so called civilised second world country across the pond., but I am interested in her progression as a talented athlete, and hope she is getting her full share of being tested for illegal substances.The personal live experiences of the athletes mentioned above are not known to me or any one else on this Forum , to the best of my knowledge,
                          .
                          As a member of a minority religion myself for the last 80 plus years, i know there are many stupid nasty people around this planet with ignorant views, but i just got on with my life despite it all.
