The first 7 British athletes have been selected for Tokyo in the marathon and 20km Race Walk - https://www.britishathletics.org.uk/...ted-for-tokyo/
The surprise is Steph Twell - people thought she was aiming for the 10,000 instead after some recent injury issues.

What a few days Linden Hall has had, sub-2 & sub-4 for the first time! I'm really chuffed that she reclaimed the NR. She's one of those athletes who just gets out and races a ton. No messin'. You can watch the race at the 2 hour 38 mins mark at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5qD6l6zvfo
Dave McNeill turned back time with a 7:46.41 PB to win the 3000 and Jye Edwards, the new kid on the block in the 1500, improved his PB again by 1.8 seconds to beat Ramsden & Gregson in 3:35.46, just half a second away from the Olympic standard.

Also, he notes, amber anning 'is keeping v busy on the track and today improved her outdoor 400m PB to 52.08 for 4th in Texas relays.' - cant be too long before a 51 something - but I hope she takes a break before 'trials'; as GB women's 400 is hotting up for a relay spot.
Finally, in that same wittering someone noted - Daryll Neita also managed to run 23.28 (1.3) - her first 200m race since 2014! Cant do her any harm for the back end of her 100, .. I felt she had plateau'd and it will be interesting to see what her and Imani Lansiquot can do this year
Amber Anning ran a 51.83s 400m indoors at the NCAA finals with a 51.46s relay split. If she isn't run down to the ground or injured she is a serious contender for an individual 400m spot.

Another Swiss NR for Fabienne Schlumpf on her marathon debut in Belp (SUI), 2:26:14, taking 35s off the record. The race was won by Helen Bekele Tola (ETH) in 2:24:57.
In the same race, a great marathon debut for Moira Stewartova (CZE), 2:29:39, agonisingly just 9 seconds outside the Olympic Standard! At halfway she was on pace for around 2:28:30.
No Olympic standards achieved in the men's race, won by Adrian Lehmann (SUI), 2:12:34 PB.
There's a very good marathon in Tuscany next Sunday (11th) - http://www.fidal.it/content/A-Siena-...arathon/131808 (startlists linked at the bottom)

Sorry, but I'm having a hard time believing that course is the full 5k!
Apparently her 3k split was 8:40 - I'd never even have her down as an 8:40 runner for 3000.
I'll apologise profusely if she's able to back it up. Apparently, she's not made the Olympic team for the triathlon so I'd imagine she'll try for the athletics team instead?Last edited by LuckySpikes; 04-04-21, 10:47.

Hellen Obiri was 3rd in 64:51, #5 all-time and the fastest debut ever.
WR-holder Kibiwott Kandie won the men's in 59:33, beating Geoffrey Kamworor by a few seconds.

From the latest article on AW, Beth Potter said,
"I thought 15:15 would be a really good run for me because I’ve been focusing on other parts of my training this year. ... I couldn’t believe the times that were being read out at the kilometre marks. I only broke three minutes for a kilometre the other night for the first time this year."
I think that speaks volumes about the accuracy of this run.
