those fields, if they all turn up, definitely put one into dribbling mode. Shame that DAS and her coach will not run in the Monaco 200m meet to acquaint herself with the opposition and enjoy the conditions before the" winter" DL meet in Gateshead.

      • Jamaica team out:

        https://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/...c-charge-tokyo

All the women doubling across 100/200. Whether that's helpful for the GB relay team we shall see.

        The men's 4x1 doesn't seem insanely strong?

        • The strength of the Jamaican team is on the women's side. And the best male chance of them all has been left off. Apparently Omar McLeod cramped up shortly before the final at the trials, hence his last place.

I totally get why US does the top 3 cut-throat system but I really can't see how Jamaica can justify doing this. Sure as I said their women's sprints are strong but outside that they just don't have the depth. Those going in the hurdles are good but none of them can realistically put pressure on Grant Holloway.

Yes - US a bit different to Jamaica population wise! I would've taken Omar

I guess that answers the question whether she can perform out of Africa. Now we just have to see if she can handle rounds at a major championships.

I believe Naser's case is now closed - so no.

Unless Philipp means serve her time and then get caught a second time?

            • KJT is back competing. Jumped 1.84 in a HJ competition in France last night. Not amazing by her standards but good to see her back healthy. And hopefully another few weeks will see her 1.90+.

Indications are that both Mboma and Maslingi will only be running the 200m distance in Tokyo. I suppose that may answer *those* lingering questions. Strap yourselves in for claims of racism and discrimination to again overshadow T&F on the biggest stage, and I suspect Laurel Hubbard's inclusion will only act to heighten that debate - IAAF rules have really created a problem. How can eligibility differ between events? Why is it a no for the 400, but a yes for the 200? Bizarre situation.

I'm beginning to worry for Dina - Americans coming out of the woodwork, Jamaicans flying, SMU running the 200 (although, I wonder if she'll go 400 now? The gold looks like hers if she wants it), and now two more interesting additions... Gonna be tough.

Yes, both Mboma & Masilingi have been taken off WA's list of qualified athletes for the 400m in Tokyo and are now they're both only on the list for the 200. I do think that can only mean one thing, given that they both much better at the 400 and would surely race the longer distance given the option.

                    • Guess conditions in Oslo aren’t great. First three and a bit rounds of women’s spear are pretty underwhelming.
