Patryk Dobek I believe has found his event.... He wins a stacked 800m (containin Brits Jamie Webb and Eliot Giles) in a new PB of 1:43.73! In a well paced and rapidly run race, the top *8* all ran under 1:45, including Polish teammates Marcin Lewandowski in a season's best of 1:44.31 and Krysztof Roznicki's personal best of 1;44.51.

The super-shoes are working me thinks! Multiple sub-2 in a race outside the major champs or DL were quite rare until recently. Now, they're quite commonplace.

Fajdek won the hammer with an impressive 82.14m heave in round 5, winning the event ahead of Nowicki's 79.92m effort in the 3rd round. And improving all the time, European U18 champion and WU18 record holder, as well as European U20 champion and EU20 record holder Myhaylo Kokhan of Ukraine, set a new PB of 78.57m to come in third place.

Well Bisset actually took that long standing record already , in London in 2019. But the fact that she has now lowered it again is hugely encouraging for Australian middle distance after some pretty quiet years. The men are doing rather well too this year...

As far as I see the Kenyans have suffered seriously by losing top athletes due to their top 3 system. Not just the 1500m, but I hope that their chosen steeplers are the best they have: cant see if Jeruto and their world champion are on the womens steeple team. Any poster know.?

Regarding Norah Jeruto, she and 3 other Kenyan women have, for 3 or 4 years, had a change in allegiance to Kazakhstan (!) in the works. I don't know if that will be completed before Tokyo or not. The other 3 are Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui and 2 lesser steeplechasers.
