A great meet this evening ; nothing like a warm evening and very small winds; Glad to see McLeod coming into top form; give Holloway something to think about.DAS looked on the way to top form;Cheptegei was a surprise; wonder whats gone wrong.? J I ran with great courage and wonder if he will stick with just the 1500m.

Don’t normally get too excited by the joggers, but very impressed by Jakob driving a bus through 13 mins and in a proper race too. Give me that over a time trial any day of the week.
Dasher looking in very fine fettle. Tokyo may be tougher than Doha for her, but I suspect she’ll be right in the mix.
Can’t overstate how much I detest the last round / top 3 nonsense in the field. Adds the square root of sod all, and if that ever comes into championships then I’m off to watch tiddlywinks.

The meeting at Niece this weekend has some interesting fields withe athletes obviously going for WA equals.
The 800 shows Giles and Mills running but their are a number of Brits trying for quals not yet achieved: Courtney - Bryant, Boffey are in the meet

Plus Walcott-Nolan, who has already improved to 4:08 this year and may yet get quicker.

Really impressed with Walcott-Nolan's performace in the european cup 3000m getting maximum points for GB in not her first choice event. If she gets the standard I would think she has a good chance of getting on the plane perhaps as the third discretionary pick. Could that performance in the european cup hold some sway with the selectors when the time comes.

Totally agreed Jogger. Although that is also hypothetically possible due to wind limits in horizontal jumps.
Odd sport we follow.

Germany's Lea Meyer with the Olympic standard in the Steeple in Nice, 9:29.26, an 8 second PB.
And another PB for 19yo Claire Palou (FRA), just a 3s PB this time with 9:31.46.
I think that makes her the 3rd fastest teenager ever not to be born in Africa, a little bit faster now than Europe's current two best, Gesa Krause and Anna Emilie Moller, were at the same age.
For further context she's currently faster than all but 1 of the 21-23 year olds in the NCAA.
