Copeland had a very off day, though it must be noted too that this was his first run outdoors this season, so perhaps he can be sort of forgiven for looking rusty out there.

Overall though, for the British entrants to this meeting it was a pretty good one overall, though Baker will be very frustrated to miss out on the Olympic quali mark by just 4/100ths of a second. Pozzi looked very good out there.

(Also the track can't be *that* slow, considering the meeting 110m hurdles is 12.99 by Shubenkov from a couple of seasons ago)

    • Francine Nyonsaba will be going to the Olympics in the 5000m. Fourth place tonight in 14:54.38 behind winner Beatrice Chebet (Doha 3000m winner), 14:52.05, who had a wicked kick from 200m out to overhaul long-time leader Kalkidan Gezahegne.

A 10+ second PB for Slovenia's 20yo Klara Lukan, the 2019 Euro U20 5000m champ, with 15:23.90. That puts her 7 seconds behind her rival Nadia Batocletti who ran 15:16 in Andujar last week. I expect they'll face off at the Euro U23s in July.

Montreuil always puts on a really good meeting and tonight's was no exception.

The Continental Tour moves on to Slovakia and Sweden tomorrow, both streaming at 5pm - 7pm. I'm going to watch Samorin live (since there's no guarantee that someone will later upload the TV broadcast to YouTube) and then watch Gothenburg afterwards on-demand.

Earlier today the startlists for Samorin were published at http://www.p-t-s.sk/wp-content/uploa...PTS_010621.pdf

Rabah should be going nowhere near a relay ever again...

          Was a non-trier imho
Seemed to have an aversion to batons at that moment
          Why?

Unless Rabah is able to uncork a 44.6 run out of his back side, I don't care what he's doing, especially after his debacle in the ETC last weekend.

Kind sole? Something fishy about that request.

World Athletics' Road to Tokyo at https://www.worldathletics.org/stats...oad-to/7132391 - see top left for the Entry Number.

That mini-site also gives you who's got the standards and who's currently in the World Rankings quota.

Good for him, he was utterly terrible in Poland last weekend.

That 1500 in Poland essentially became a 400m race. Probably not his strong point.

                  • Brianna McNeill banned but not banned.

Olympic 100m hurdles champion Brianna McNeal is banned from athletics for five years for breaking anti-doping rules.

                    • In the usa top athletes employ lawyers to get them off penalties . Their sympathetic Arbitration mob had to thrown in their usual crap about a brilliant athlete who had not failed a test just manipulated which is not the point, as Coleman found out. They are devoid of any morals at Usatf so are quite content to let athletes compete. Was it not Tyson Gay known to have cheated who was allowed to compete in OG in London.
