Agreed - I think some very good athletes will stay at home from poor tactics. The plane should be full on both sides for 8,15 and 5k

and not only is it a new world indoor record - the first ever U20 to get under 2 minutes indoors.

DAS going live in Dusseldorf at 13:20. Open stream is here.

And she won in 7.12, so a bit slower than Friday.

Lavillenie is back! 6.02 WL today in Tourcoing (and now going for 6,19), outdoing Duplantis's 6.01 in Dusseldorf today.

EDIT : The graphic said he's attempting 6.20 ! ... Now doing an interview so I think he's bailed after 1 attempt.

KJT news - has been battling an injury for the last few weeks so is not doing anything till March

            https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/55881117

Probably at the stage in her career when it’s not worth doing every winter. I always thought that was why Carolina Kluft burnt out early.

Wow, in Banska Bystrica Mahuchikh has gone over 2.03 then 2.06 NR, both first time clearances only very barely clipping the bar.

Then she retires, keeping us hanging, without attempting a 2.09 iWR!

Some good results at the Czech Indoor Gala in Ostrava, including 2 indoor NRs.

Jamie Webb won a tight 800 in an indoor PB, 1:46.54.

It's not often you see a female Israeli pole vaulter but there was 2 competing here. One of them, Naama Berenstein, set a new 10cm PB with 4.35. Not a iNR though because the American, Jillian Schwartz, who switched nationality has that at 4.52.
Tina Sutej won with 4.70 but couldn't go over a new Slovenian NR of 4.76.

Ricardo Dos Santos (Bianca Williams' partner) ran a 46.64 Portuguese 400 iNR behind Maslak's 46.24.

In the M 1500 Charel Grethen (LUX) ran a new iNR, 3:39.49, just behind new Hungarian NR-holder, Szogi.

In the W 60H Pia Skrzyszowska (POL) won in 8.02, improving her PB by 0.03. She's 2 months away from her 20th birthday and has an outdoor PB of 13.01.

Oliver Bromby won a close 60 in 6.65. He has loads of those cupping marks on his upper arms. I didn't know people still did that.

Holly Bradshaw set a 4.85 WL in Rouen last night, her best since 2012.

The American Athing Mu set a very impressive iWJR in the 400; her main event is the 800. I don't know if she's planning on doing both long term, but could be setting the stage for a fascinating rivalry over the next few years with Keely Hodgkinson at 800.

Tiffany Porter seems to be back in form - 7.95 twice in the 60H at the American Track League tonight. It was very probably a WRWWAM ... World Record Whilst Wearing A Mask !

At the same meeting 15yo Sophia Gorriaran led Adelle Tracey for all but the last 30m of the 800 and clocked a bonkers 2:02.44 ! The fastest ever run by a girl 15 years or younger is 2:01.46 (Keely Small in 2017) but that was outdoors.

A result that appears to have been missed here is Larissa Iapichino going to 4th on the U-20 long jump list indoors with 6.75m at the Italian U23/U20 Championships in Ancona on Sunday. Iapichino is of course the daughter of former world long jump champ Fiona May, and the way that she has bein jumping, it might be too long until we see Larissa climbing the podium at a senior champs like her illustrious mother.

Its also the longest jump by an U20 in 6 years.
