The Euro U18s which were scheduled for July this year have been moved back to 2021

    https://www.european-athletics.org/n...021/index.html

No details yet on next years world u20 championships but perhaps WA and EA (with regard to the u20s and u23s) will follow suit and move the entire roster back 12 months to minimise the number of athletes missing out

Whatever they do, there will be athletes missing out in some way. For example, if the u23s was moved to 2022, the athletes in their last year of eligibility for that in 2021 will miss out.

The Pole Vault women have got their own Ultimate Garden Clash* happening this Saturday (live streamed) - Katerina Stefanidi, Katie Nageotte & Alysha Newman will compete to see how many times they can clear 4.00m in 30 minutes.

    * Interesting that, in contrast to the men, none of them have a PV set-up in their garden. So, they'll be doing it at their local training facilities.

        Anniversary Games definitely cancelled: https://www.britishathletics.org.uk/...versary-games/

        Not really a surprise.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke the Norwegian 5K road record yesterday: https://tokyo2020.org/en/news/jakob-...-norway-record.

To comply with social distancing only 5 elite athletes, two of whom were Ingebrigtsens.

Quite enjoyed this afternoon's athletics from the Czech Republic. Just great to have live athletics on our screens again with proper 6 to 8 athlete fields. 😀

Some good performances but the social distancing was a bit suspect - athletes hugging after races and photographers lying on the ground right next to each other.

            You can watch the 1h 55m broadcast on-demand at https://www.ceskatelevize.cz/porady/...olu-na-startu/ (no geo-blocking).

No such restrictions in Czechia - just compare their virus numbers with UK...

I know they have some restrictions, e.g., no more than 500 people at a public event. I'm surprised if they really don't have social distancing guidelines?

Kevin Mayer a clear winner of the pv section of the multi events garden challenge despite wandering off for a drink at the start

Weltklasse returns on 9 July with incomprehensible special format.

All a bit gimmicky, isn't it, but I suppose the best they can do. But obviously conditions (wind, temp, etc) will be different in each location.

Impossible Games: does that record of Filip Ingebrigtsen's count? It looked as if all the other competitors were pacemakers.

It's on the BBC red button in the UK btw.

Same issue with Karsten W's admittedly superb run over the hurdles … on his own.
