  • Live streams for Friday 24th January to Wednesday 29th January:

    Friday
    • Dubai Marathon - in the early hours but being streamed on YouTube so you can watch later
    Saturday
    • Welsh Indoor Championships (Cardiff)
    • New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (Boston, USA) - first leg of the World Indoor Tour
    Sunday
    • Osaka Women's Marathon (JPN) - as always a good field - a mix of some very good Africans, some of the top Japanese and a couple of others like Lisa Weightman & the surprisingly good Mongolian record holder; In order to snatch the 3rd Olympic spot away from the 3rd placer at the 2019 MGC (Olympic Trials) the Japanese women have to run under 2:22:23. Only Kayoko Fukushi in the domestic field has done that (4 years ago when winning this race in 2:22:17). Mizuki Matsuda has run exactly 2:22:23 in 2018. Rei Ohara, the current occupant of that 3rd Olympic spot, is also in the race. Her PB is 2:23:20. There's also a number of 2:25 to 2:27 Japanese women hoping for a big breakthrough. As I've done lately for Japanese races on at silly o'clock I'll post the race later if the broadcast recording turns up on YouTube (it likely will)
    • Osaka Half Marathon (JPN) - Men & Women; Run concurrently with the women's marathon but in the opposite direction; Decent fields but there's probably no way you would choose this over the women's marathon. Fortunately it's being streamed on YouTube so you can watch later
    • Scottish Senior and U17 Indoor Championships (Glasgow)
    • Cinque Mulini (ITA) - the famous "5 Mills" cross country races; WA XC Permit
    • Élan Indoor Meeting (Bratislava, SVK) - Aimee Pratt & Khahisa Mhlanga are amongst the Brits due to compete here
    Wednesday 29th
    • Internationales Springer-Meeting (Cottbus, GER) - some top, top athletes in this Women's HJ & Men's PV meeting plus 2 Brits
All the links & details at https://www.dropbox.com/s/i3jybz8mxh...01-29.odt?dl=0 (all links clickable.)

Next post on Thursday 30th for the beginning of a very busy few weeks of live streamed/broadcast events.

      • A reminder that there's top Women's HJ and Men's PV action from Cottbus tomorrow (Wednesday) from 5pm - details at the bottom of https://www.dropbox.com/s/i3jybz8mxh...01-29.odt?dl=0

They are YouTube & Facebook streams so you can jump back to the start whatever time you start watching.

Lasitskene no longer taking part. She was complaining the other day about being put in the Russian testing pool and how that could jeopardise her ability to get WA clearance to compete internationally ... ... I didn't quite catch her drift.

        • Live broadcast/stream for Friday 31st January:

Today I'm just posting details & links for the one meeting - tomorrow's 2nd leg of the World Indoor Tour in Karlsruhe.

          Details & links at https://www.dropbox.com/s/pbc60jx2px...01-31.odt?dl=0

That gives me a bit more time to gather all the info/links for events from Saturday until Thursday. I'm going to be away from Monday to Thursday so have to post the info for the mid-week meetings before I go.
At the moment it looks like 12 definite/very-probable events plus 2 or 3 possibles.

I'll post all that tomorrow (Friday).

                • Live streams for Saturday 8th February to Sunday 9th February:

                  Saturday + Sunday
                  • International Combined Events Meeting (Tallinn, EST) - good line-ups ... Uibo vs Urena vs Kasyanov and in the women's some of Europe's best youngsters - Vicente, Shukh & Sulek - facing the returning veteran Hanna Kasyanova
                  Saturday
                  • ?? Lagos City Marathon (NGR)
                  • Hustopeče High Jump meeting (CZE) - Good fields including several Brits
                  • Torun World Indoor Tour (POL)

                  Sunday
                  • Japanese Corporate Half Marathon Championships (Yamaguchi, JPN)
                  • Nordenkampen Nordic Indoor match (Helsinki) - SWE vs FIN vs NOR vs DEN/ISL

                  • Cross Ciudad de Castellón (ESP) - Pretty decent fields for this including several international athletes
                  • Dortmund Indoor Meeting (GER) - I don't believe this meeting has been streamed before; Some nice fields here with several good Brits competing. I like the look of the Women's 3000 in particular. Looking at the Women's 60 Hurdles field I wondered who on earth Jules de Bont is (7.84 PB!) ... it turns out it's a clerical error and "she" should be in the men's field!

                        • Banskobystricka Latka (SVK) - the most prestigious High Jump meeting of the indoor season; Gale, Nedasekau, Levchenko & Mahuchikh are amongst those competing.

                        • Spåret GP (Stockholm, SWE) - decent fields here; Headlined by the Men's 800 that includes Bosse, Kramer, Collins Kipruto & Middlebrigtsen.
                        Wednesday
                        • AIT Grand Prix (Athlone, IRL) - plenty of British interest as usual.
                        Thursday
                        • Canberra Track Classic (AUS) - outdoor meeting; Looks like the best of the 3 Aussie summer season meetings so far this year; Good Women's 800 in particular.
For the Stockholm & Athlone meetings I've also provided a link for the host broadcast since it's not unknown for VincoSport to have problems with their stream!

Next post on Thursday 13th February for another packed weekend of streaming events. ISTAF Indoor (Berlin) and the first day of the BUCS Champs are on Friday so don't get caught out by that. And over this coming weekend there's also a real treat for those of us who appreciate a particular niche side of athletics!

                        • Live streams for Friday 14th February to Sunday 16th February:

Yes, as alluded to a few days ago, there's a real treat for fans of Race Walking this weekend! If you listed the national championships you'd want to see, the Japanese and Spanish championships would be very high on that list and that's exactly what we have on the live streams this weekend! Both are such high calibre events that they also attract a number of inernational guest competitors too. There's also the Indian National Open RW Championships - a decent standard, possibly a nation making a gradual rise in race walking.

Good French meetings in Val de Reuil on Friday and Eaubonne on Monday but RMC Sport is not covering them this year. Seems strange that they've downgraded their athletics coverage in Olympic year.

                          Friday to Sunday
                          • BUCS Indoor Championships (Sheffield)
                          Friday
                          • ISTAF Indoor (Berlin)
                          Saturday & Sunday
                          • Indian National Open Race Walking Championships (Ranchi, IND)
                          Saturday
                          • USA Indoor Championships (Albuquerque)
                          • Porritt Classic (Hamilton, NZL) - outdoor meeting
                          • Balkan Indoor Championships (Istanbul)
                          • Muller Indoor Grand Prix (Glasgow)

                          Sunday
                          • Spanish 50km Race Walking Championships (Torrevieja)
                          • Barcelona Half Marathon - Roza Dereje is trying to break the WR; Plenty of good European representation, especially in the women's race - Reh, Arter, McCormack, Augusto etc; Ben Connor is in the men's
                          • Castellón Marathon AND 10km Castellón (ESP)

                          • Guadalajara International Half Marathon (MEX)
                          • Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon (Verona, ITA)
All the details & links at https://www.dropbox.com/s/nqyf3dpyzd...02-16.odt?dl=0

Next post probably on Monday 17th February for Tuesday's Vic Milers Club (Melbourne), the World Indoor Tour in Liévin and the Sabadell indoor meeting (both Wednesday).

                          • Ooh, we (I?) are being spoiled! Another Race Walking event, the Brazilian Championships, has been added for Sunday. Brazilian walkers are part of the wave of athletes making South America a force in world race walking. Caio Bonfim (2017 World bronze) is entered in the 35km and Erica de Sena (4th in Doha) in the 20km.

                            • Having said on Thursday that tomorrow's (Monday) Meeting Féminin du Val d'Oise in Eaubonne is not being covered by RMC Sport this year, I'm pleased to say that another TV channel will be showing it live.

So, I will post details for that and the other mid-week meetings before tea-time tomorrow. The broadcast for Eaubonne starts at 6.45pm.

No start/entry lists for either of the Wednesday meetings at the time of writing but the preview for Sabadell does give a good indication of who's competing.

                                Monday
                                • Meeting Féminin du Val d'Oise (Eaubonne, FRA) - good women's-only meeting
