Added to the document above for Wednesday is ...

University of Birmingham Track & Field Series - Meet 1 incl BMC Gold Standard meeting (Birmingham, GBR) - The main events are the BMC races, in particular the Women's 3000 which includes Megan Keith, Innes Fitzgerald, Grace Carson, Poppy Tank & Ellie Wallace. The Men's 800 'A' race looks pretty good too with Sam Reardon & Kane Elliott. There's also some very good athletes dotted around some of the non-BMC events such as Cameron Fillery & Holly Mills (LJ)

The Women's Javelin could have 3 or 4 women going over 60m again and the Women's Steeple could be good with Area Record-holder Tatiane Raquel da Silva, Carolina Lozano (ARG) & Simone Ponte Ferraz

Live streams/broadcasts for Friday 5th May:

    Friday
    • Ongoing Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championships (Ashland, OH, USA) - NCAA D2 conference; See the post above
    • Mito Invitational Athletics (Mito, JPN) - Japan GP series; This is a bit of a strange one with the only senior track events being 100m & 1500m. There's 9 field events though, some of decent quality. Overall though, it's not one of the stronger Japan GP meetings
    • Doha Diamond League (Doha, QAT) - Welcome back and it's really loaded!
    • Meeting Citta' di Conegliano (Conegliano, ITA) - Like the Mito Invitational above this is not one of Italy's stronger live streamed meetings. However, there's still some quality athletes involved. Osama Zoghlami goes in the Men's 5000 against Celestin Ndikumana (BDI) & GB's Adam Clarke. There's a few Slovenians here, including Klara Lukan in the 3000 vs Emeline Imanizabayo (Rwanda) and, in the 800, good youngster Veronika Sadek goes against Joyce Mattagliano. Triple Jumper Ottavio Cestonaro is in the Long Jump
    Friday to Saturday
    • Ongoing Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships (Rolla, Missouri, USA) - NCAA D2 conference; See the post above
    • Troféu Adhemar Ferreira da Silva (Bragança Paulista, BRA) - There's no startlists out for this yet but it looks like there'll be a decent amount of strong domestic athletes getting a sharpener in before the inernational meetings in Brazil on Sunday and Wednesday. For instance, Thiago Moura in the HJ, Rosângela Santos in the 100, Chayenne Pereira in the W 400 & 400H and Tiffani Marinho in the 400 also. There's pretty much a full programme of events over the 4 sessions

Next major post tomorrow (Friday) evening for the weekend's streams including the Prague Marathon, a loaded street meet in the USA, Italian & German 10,000m Championships, the Gold Race Walking meeting in Portugal, the Kinami Michitaka Memorial Bronze meeting in Osaka and the Track Fest mid/long-distance meeting (Conti Silver) in LA ($6 Pay-per-View but possibly worth it?).

Live streams/broadcasts for Wednesday 3rd May to Thursday 4th May:

This is a very busy week for Japan GP meetings with their national championships now less than 4 weeks away. They also have another 2 GP meetings on Friday and the weekend.

    Wednesday
    • Shizuoka International Athletics Meet (Fukuroi, JPN) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting; Japan GP series; There's pretty good fields here in many of the events and the Men's 400 Hurdles looks like one of the stand-out events with a load of 48 & 49 second athletes, including two from Taipei. The meeting's international entrants come from 8 other countries including GB's Jade Lally, Aussies, a couple of good Sri Lankans and two Cypriot throwers
    Wednesday to Friday
    • Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championships (Ashland, OH, USA) - NCAA D2 conference; Whilst only Findlay are nationally ranked in the Top 25 (# 12 Women and # 24 Men) this is one of the better D2 conferences, also featuring good Universities like Ashland, Tiffin, Hillsdale & Walsh
    Thursday
    • Golden Games in Nobeoka incl Japanese 10,000m Trials (Nobeoka, JPN) - 5000m & 10,000m; Japan GP series; This is always a super little meeting, known for its 5000m racing and made even better this year with the addition of the Japanese 10,000m Trials. The trials are for the Budapest Worlds but also for the Asian Championships in mid-July and the Asian Games in late September. So, even finishing 5th or 6th here should result in a good chance of representing Japan in a continental champs this year. In contrast to most of the Japanese GP meetings which take place in big, cavernous stadiums, the folk of Nobeoka pack this little stadium out and most are right next to the track, creating a great atmosphere and making a right racket by banging on the trackside advertising boards throughout the races. The 10,000s are last on the programme but I will start with them ... The Women's race is definitely the more interesting of the two. It's a small but quality field of 9 athletes and I believe 3 women will be aiming for sub-30:40 (the Budapest standard). I don't think there's pacemakers but Wavelight is being used and it's going to be set for 30:40 (there's only one set of pacing lights in the 10,000s but three sets in all the 5000s). Rino Goshima and Tomoka Kimura ran 30:55 and 31:01 at the Castellón 10k in February and Ririka Hironaka is also racing here - she already has the standard from Eugene. Goshima & Kimura are team-mates on the Shiseido team and so, I imagine, will try to share the pace. Hironaka can just tuck in if she wants. It's a very long shot for Goshima & Kimura though. Only 2 Japanese women have ever broken 30:40 - Hitomi Niiya & Hironaka (just). But, if they don't hit the standard it's not necessarily over for them. I reckon that as many as 6 of the 8 Cross Country qualifiers for the Worlds 10,000 won't take their places and so that opens up a some places by World Rankings. If Goshima & Kimura can run sub-31 that will have them in strong contention to qualify, what with their fast road times too. Other interesting starters are Rika Kaseda who is already picked for the World Champs Marathon but she may fancy the 10,000 at one of the Asian events, the very talented 20yo Haruka Kokai, Momoka Kawaguchi & Wakana Itsuki. I really hope those latter 2 can get picked for one of the Asian events - they're real troopers and for Itsuki it would be a first national vest. In the Men's race there's 6 Japanese men with sub-27:40 PBs but the Wavelight is being set for 27:55. No Japanese man has ever run the 27:10 standard for Worlds and that field is already looking pretty full so possibly there won't be any qualifiers by World Rankings, which likely explains the modest target pace here. So, the Japanese men here are just racing for places on the Asian event teams. Right, let's talk about the Men's 5000 'B' race which is effectively the 'A' race - Jacob Krop (making a rare appearance for his corporate team), Eugene 10,000 silver medalist Stanley Waithaka, Richard Etir (27:06 10,000 last week), Richard Kimunyan, Hyuga Endo, Evans Keitany, Jonathan Ndiku ... I could go on and on, this field is bonkers! The Wavelight is being set 13:05 for that race and I hope they follow it and maybe get some under 13. The Men's 'C' race could be pretty sharp too. The line-up for the Women's 5000 'A' race is really nice. There's some good young Kenyans headed by Naomi Muthoni Kariuki & Judy Jepngetich (both 14:50 PBs) plus a number of in-form Japanese athletes such as Misaki Hayashida, Kazuna Kanetomo, Nagisa Shimotabira, Risa Yamazaki & Sairi Maeda. if you've been reading my reports in the 2023 OUTdoors thread you might recognise their names - I've mentioned them all in the last 4 weeks (Kanetomo twice!) precisely because they've all run very well lately. Kazuna Kanetomo is fun to watch - she's tiny but bold and "gets after it". The Wavelights are set for 14:50, 15:10 & 15:20 in that race and I think there could be at least a couple of significant breakthroughs by Japanese athletes
    Thursday to Saturday
    • Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships (Rolla, Missouri, USA) - NCAA D2 conference; There's no national Top 25 teams here and it's not as strong as the G-MAC above but it's still a decent conference (around average for D2?) with teams such as Lewis, Missouri S&T, Cedarville & Indianapolis

Corsa International Oderzo Città Archeologica (Oderzo, ITA) - International road races; This is another of those races with laps through the old town that Italy does so well. This year the fields are all European (by design or not?) but it's a refreshing change. In the Women's 5km Luiza Gega and Hungary's 5000/Steepler, Viktoria Wagner-Gyurkes, face a good domestic field that includes Ludovica Cavalli (8:44 3000 this winter), Palmero, Lonedo, Gemetto & Majori. In the Men's 10km a good cast of Italians including Chiappinelli, Neka Crippa, Selvarolo & El Mazoury race against Istvan Szogi (HUN; 3:36 1500 PB).

Yes, I didn't include it because the fields aren't that good. Everyone seems to be turning up to the Sprints & Relays meeti in Florence on May 7th instead, including a good Men's GB relay team.

    Yep, thanks.

Multistars wasn't streamed last year either. However, the 2 or 3 editions previous to that had been streamed.

What a pity MultiStars is not live streamed anywhere. It's not on RAI TV. Only thing I can find is a YouTube channel called Vincent Sports with a non-existent link below. :-(
