• Meeting International de la Province de Liège (Liège, BEL) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting; A nice little meeting despite not being the best of Bronze meetings; Amongst the highlights are the M 600 with Bol, Tuwei, Webb & Crestan and a good W 5000 with Semenya, Batt-Doyle, Izzi Fry & Medina Eisa (ETH 17yo; 14:59 PB)

Thursday to Sunday

• Mediterranean Games (Oran, ALG) - I really enjoyed the last edition of this. There's no startlists yet but, for example, the Italian team is quite strong whilst the Spanish team is less so

Thursday

• Boysen Memorial (Oslo, NOR) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting; Not a huge amount of depth here but there are some good athletes competing including GB's Nick Percy
• BAUHAUS-Galan - Stockholm Diamond League (Stockholm, SWE)

Next major post on Thursday evening for Friday's Gold Coast Half Marathon and 3 events starting on Friday - the European Off Road Running Championships, the Carribean Games (for U23s) and the Bolivarian Games in Colombia.

I cannot find any programme details at this time as to which BBC TV mainstream channels , Iplayer or channel 601 are showing the upcoming world champs in Eugene. Every time I google it gives me no relevant info. Lucky, have you a site that confirms the details or is it too early?

I imagine the overnight action with the finals will be on BBC1 and early evening sessions for the heats on BBC2. The catch up shows could probably go on BBC1/2 - I imagine they'll be on around 9AM

No, it's too early.

But https://www.tvguide.co.uk/ has BBC1 & BBC2 listings for 13 days ahead so in 3 days' time they should have the listings for Day 1 of the Championships (click the "+13" alongside "Day/Time" just above the listings).

Also, a few days before the championships start, the BBC Athletics site usually publishes an article with all the broadcast times and channels.

I imagine it will all be live on the iPlayer as well.

No, it's too early.

But https://www.tvguide.co.uk/ has BBC1 & BBC2 listings for 13 days ahead so in 3 days' time they should have the listings for Day 1 of the Championships (click the "+13" alongside "Day/Time" just above the listings).

On the Stockholm DL tonight they seemed to be saying that BBC3 would be the main live source. Hopefully with a highlights roundup on one of the main channels.

• Gold Coast Half Marathon incl Oceania Championships (Gold Coast, QLD, AUS) - Good, mostly domestic fields here, headed by Brett Robinson, Jess Stenson & Eloise Wellings

Friday to Saturday

• Carribean Games (Guadeloupe) - This is the inaugural edition of these Games. The athletics has a limited programme of events and is for U23 athletes only; However, I can't find any indication of who's competing!

Friday to Sunday

• Ongoing Mediterranean Games (Oran, ALG) - For convenience, the listing is included again in the document below (original teaser notes are 6 posts above)
• European Off-Road Running Championships (El Paso, Canary Islands, ESP) - For the first time the championships for Mountain Running and Trail Running are combined, with 10 sets of medals up for grabs (incl U20 races); There's some big names of Mountain Running involved, including Maude Mathys (SUI) & Andrea Mayr (AUT). GB's Jacob Adkin defends his European title in the Uphill race and Kate Avery is also competing as is Militsa Mircheva (BUL), both in the same Uphill race as Mathys & Mayr; Hopefully with it being on the European Athletics YT channel the coverage will be decent (of course, it's not the easiest discipline to film.)

Friday to Tuesday 5^th

• Bolivarian Games (Valledupar, COL) - These Games are held in honour of Simón Bolívar, who led the armies that liberated much of South America from Spanish rule (the Games have expanded over the years to take in a few other nearby nations, taking the total to 11); A lot of the nations competing seem to be taking it quite seriously and sending a lot of their best athletes

Sorry, there's no teaser notes today except for the Hokuren Distance Challenge which is the first of 5 rounds over the next 15 days.

Saturday

• Spanish Autonomous Federations Championships (Granollers, ESP)
• Hokuren Distance Challenge Round 1 (Shibetsu, JPN) - This series of mid/long-distance meetings is always a big highlight of my athletics summer - 5 meetings in 15 days with different distances at each meeting. They're all held at different venues on the island of Hokkaido where it's cooler than the rest of Japan in the summer. The first two meetings are usually more low-key though this year (due to the World Champs being soon), all of them will likely be missing Japan's very best athletes, most of whom usually run in 2 or 3 of these meetings - although Nozomi Tanaka is entered to run the first two; However, the depth of both men's & women's distance running in Japan is such that there'll still be good racing and fast times - and remember that a lot of good Kenyans will be competing too. Such is the depth, even the 'B' races are usually pretty good, especially at the last 2 or 3 meetings in the series. And at these meetings there's always a few breakthroughs made by Japanese athletes as well as the chance to discover a brilliant youngster or two - the likes of Seira Fuwa, Ryuji Miura & Kaede Hagitani have all cut their teeth in these meetings. Also, several national records have been set in these meetings in the last few years - Nozomi Tanaka twice (1500 & 3000) and also in the Men's 800 & 1500. The J-Pop jingle just before each race and the very old-school way of showing race splits all add to the charm of these meetings
• Sollentuna Combined Events Challenge (Sollentuna, SWE) - World Combined Events Tour Bronze meeting
• Junior Gala (Mannheim, GER) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series
• JUMP & FLY (Hechingen, GER) - International PV, LJ & Discus meeting
• Morton Games (Dublin, IRL) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series
• Meeting Stanislas Nancy (Tomblaine/Nancy, FRA) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting
• Ongoing Carribean Games (Guadeloupe) - See 2 posts above

• Peachtree Road Race (Atlanta, GA, USA) - International 10km road race; WA Label race; Strong fields here and big names such as Rhonex Kipruto, Kibiwott Kandie, Brigid Kosgei, Senbere Teferi & Rosemary Wanjiru
• Meeting International de Sotteville (Sotteville-lès-Rouen, FRA) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting; Probably as expected, the fields here have suffered a bit as a result of the proximity to the WCh; However, there's a good M 800 that includes Emannuale Korir, the Manangoi brothers in a decent 1500 that also includes George Mills and a good W 100H including Amusan

Tuesday

• Cork City Sports (Cork, IRL) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting; No startlists yet but a couple of the highlight events are expected to be the M 800 with Langford, English, Pattison, Fitzsimmons & Copeland and the W 3000 with Semenya & Sarah Healy
• City of Barcelona International Meeting (Barcelona, ESP) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; I think this meeting is probably better than it might appear at first glance. Once those fields are seeded into "A" and "B" races there'll be some pretty good line-ups in the "A" races, especially in the mid-distances; There's also a few Brits competing including Rhoden-Stevens, Jess Turner & Derbyshire

Wednesday

• Hokuren Distance Challenge Round 2 (Fukagawa, JPN) - The rounds of this super mid/long-distance series come thick and fast; Nozomi Tanaka isn't taking a break before Eugene and goes in the 3000 here, hoping for a confidence-building win after she was beaten over 1500 in Round 1 last Saturday by Hellen Ekarare. Here she's due to face Ekarare again along with 2 other good young Kenyans, Esther Muthoni & Martha Mokoya. There's also 2 good 10,000 'A' races with large fields. A bunch of Kenyans head the Men's, led by Bernard Koech (27:02 PB) and in the Women's there's 4 sub-32 athletes (as well as 8 other women with 32:xx PBs), including Tokyo Marathon Olympian Ayuko Suzuki (31:18 PB) who looks to be returning to some good form after a pretty good 5000 on Saturday in Round 1. Natsuki Omori should also go well and perhaps threaten her 32:24 PB after a 15:29 victory at the Hokuren 20th Anniversary meeting 2 weeks ago
• University of Birmingham Track & Field Series #3 (Birmingham, GBR) - I've included this because there's 4 BMC Gold Standard races included (800s and 1500s). No idea of the entries for those but maybe they'll include some decent athletes?

If anybody wants to see anything regarding results for the English Schools' Championships, I think the only option is the ESSA Twitter page https://twitter.com/SchoolAthletics
On the ESAA website itself, the results pages are all down with the explanation that they were transferring all the data and links to a new site which was supposed to be ready by "Early July" (basically now), but the move hasn't been completed yet obviously.

I'm keeping an eye open regarding whether Japan will be having a period of mourning for Shinzo Abe. If so, that could put both this weekend's events from Japan in doubt ...

Unfortunately, there's no free live streams for the Bronze meetings in the US this weekend - the Stumptown Twilight (Pay-per-view) and the Sunset Tour (on Flotrack).

Saturday

• Hokuren Distance Challenge Round 3 (Kitami, JPN) - Again, there's another good Women's 3000, this time with Kaede Hagitani getting in a last race before Eugene. She'll face some good young Kenyans headed by Agnes Mwikali (8:46 PB). Both the 5000m 'A' races and the Men's 10,000 have quite good fields too. Also, it's nice to see the return this year of some Korean female athletes to these meetings - they're quite competitive
• Ongoing English Schools' Championships (Manchester, GBR) - See the post above
• MK 5000m PB Special (Milton Keynes, GBR) - No big names here but decent fields for the 'A' races
• ?? Guldensporenmeeting (Kortrijk, BEL) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; There's pretty good fields in many of the events here, and with a lot of different nations represented

Saturday to Sunday

• Spanish U23 Championships (Santander, ESP) - There's weird things going on in Spain lately ... Firstly, the national federation's website had a security breach and has been down for over a week. Then, all the content has disappeared from LaLigaSportsTV, the platform that's due to stream this meeting. So, I'm not certain it will be possible to watch it ...
• University of Birmingham Track & Field Festival (Birmingham, GBR) - This is a real mish-mash of events and different age groups but in amongst it all there's 2 good 400m invitational races, especially the Women's with Jodie Williams etc, and also some half-decent Open mid-distance races

Sunday

• Chuhei Nambu Memorial Meet (Sapporo, JPN) - Sprints & field meeting; Japan GP series; There's solid domestic fields in all of the events here
• Run Your City Durban 10k (Durban, RSA) - These South African road races are doing a good job lately of putting together some small but pretty good international line-ups alongside strong domestic fields. In the Women's race Genzebe Dibaba is the headline name but one of the 2 women who beat her 3 weeks ago in Cape Town is also here, Jesca Chelangat (KEN)
• Boilermaker 15k (Utica, NY, USA) - International 15km road race; Decent fields here it seems, that include the likes of Charles Wanjiku, Rosemary Wanjiru & Biruktayit Degefa (ETH)
