    • Lucky, i note that the BBC have rights to show the Diamond League meets on BBC till 2024 subsequent to the Beeb announcements about their coverage agreement reached with WA late last year. Do you know if that TV coverage is the day after the event, as has been the case in recent years, or full coverage at the time of the event.. If the former, then do i assume correctly that because of the agreement reached between WA/BBC then one cannot benefit from Youtube coverage as it will be blocked in the UK.I understand that due to time differences in some parts of the world where DL meets take place direct coverage at the time may be not possible. Would appreciate your views.

All the Diamond League meetings will be broadcast live by the BBC until 2024 - https://athleticsweekly.com/athletic...24-1039944768/

Presumably it will take the same form as last year - just using the world feed that often has Crammy and Hutchings on commentary.

        • Live stream for Thursday 20th January:

          Thursday
          • Victorian Milers Club Meet #3 (Box Hill, VIC, AUS) - 800m & 1500m seeded races; Some good athletes competing here. The Women's 800m 'A' race includes Ellie Sanford (2:03.0 PB at the last Vic Milers), Tess Kirsopp-Cole, Jaylah Hancock-Cameron & Melissa Duncan; The Men's 800m 'A' race should feature a battle between Jack Lunn & Lachlan Raper. They have 1:46.7 & 1:47.9 PBs respectively, both from last year; In the Women's 1500 'A' race hopefully 16yo phenom Claudia Hollingsworth (2:01.6 800m PB) is actually racing this time, not pacing as she did at the last meeting. If so, she'll have good competition from New Zealand's Rebekah Greene; The Men's 1500 'A' race includes Adam Pyke (3:40 PB) and Kiwi Brad Mathas (1:46.0 800m PB from 2021). The 'B' races at these meetings are always worth a watch as well - a decent standard and often where the really talented 14-16 year olds make a mark.

Next major post on Thursday evening if there's a live stream of Friday's good international indoor meeting in Lyon. If not, definitely on Friday evening for the weekend's events including the start of both the World Indoor Tour and the WA Continental Tour (Challenger series).

Yes, athletics covers a broad spectrum in the USA!

          • Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 22nd January to Sunday 23rd January:

The American Track League meeting due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled. Those paying attention will have noticed I didn't post last night for today's international meeting in Lyon. In a separate post tomorrow I will explain the situation regarding live streaming of French meetings (which form a significant part of the calendar both indoor and outdoor.)

This weekend we have streaming of indoor and outdoor meetings, cross country and road races. I'm also hopeful of another live stream or two materialising, including for tomorrow's World Race Walking Tour event in Turkey.

            Saturday to Sunday
            • Palaindoor National Meeting (Ancona, ITA) - Some good domestic fields here and a number of bigger names are competing, including Iapichino (LJ), Siragusa & Bogliolo (60), Bussotti (1500), Barontini (400) & Erika Furlani (HJ)
            Saturday
            • Potts Classic incl NZ 3000m Championships (Hastings, NZL) - WA Contintental Tour Challenger series; Domestic-only but quite a few of New Zealand's top athletes are competing and the linked Preview covers it all well
            • Kenyan Cross Country Championships (Kapseret nr Eldoret, KEN) - Even in the absence of Kamworor, Rhonex Kipruto & Obiri these fields look loaded. There's a lot of top names in the mixed relay too
            • Northern Ireland International Cross Country (Dundonald nr Belfast, NI) - World Cross Country Tour Silver meeting; Hellen Obiri is the class act here and the rest will be trailing in her wake. Hopefully the stream shows plenty of the battle for the minor places which might include Kate Avery, Jess Gibbon, Mhairi MacLennan, Hannah Irwin & Nina Lauwert (BEL); The Men's race is a bit stronger with 2 Kenyans (Kamar Etiang & Vincent Keter), a good Italian team including Iliass, Quazzola & Dini and a decent England team including Zak Mahamed & Hugo Milner
            • Buriram Marathon Night Run (Buri Ram, THA) - WA Label race; No idea who's competing here
            • International Indoor Meeting (Chemnitz, GER) - Mostly domestic athletes but some big names competing and some good fields, e.g., Schwab, Mayer, Schmidt & Wessolly in the W 400 (which has heats run over 300m to qualify for the final)
            • Manchester World Indoor Tour (Manchester, GBR) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; Good international fields here (from 40+ nations); Unfortunately, there'll only be a 30 minutes highlights video instead of a live stream
            Sunday
            • Vila de Santa Pola International Half Marathon (Santa Pola, ESP) - WA Label race; Pretty strong fields here that include several sub-60 men, Brenda Jepleting (65:44 PB) and Jess Piasecki

Next major post on Tuesday evening for Wednesday's Zatopek Classic (Melbourne) and Thursday's Kladno Indoor (CZE), a World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting.

              • Live streaming of France's best meetings

Sadly for us, the French Federation are now live streaming most of their best meetings on Athle TV, a subscription service (see the likely indoor exceptions below). However, the cost for one month's subscription is very reasonable so I've provided info below should anyone want to watch these meetings.

The following indoor meetings will be live streamed exclusively on that service (with on-demand replays also available for all meetings):
                • 21 Jan- Meeting Indoor de Lyon
                • 29 Jan - International Pole Vault meeting (Nevers)
                • 29 Jan - Meeting de Nantes - always a good meeting
                • 29 - 30 Jan - X-Athletics (Aubiere) - World Combined Events Tour Bronze meeting
                • 4 Feb - Meeting de Miramas - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting
                • 5 Feb - International Pole Vault meeting (Tourcoing)
                • 9 Feb - Mondeville Meeting - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting
                • 12 Feb - Meeting Metz Moselle Athlor - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting
                • 14 Feb - Meeting l'Eure (Val-de-Reuil) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting
                • 26 - 27 Feb - French Championships (Miramas)
Four French indoor meetings (2 of them Pole Vault) WILL very likely be available to watch for FREE via other services:
                • 17 Feb - Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais (Liévin) - World Indoor Tour Gold meeting
                • 19 Feb - All Star Perche (Clermont-Ferrand) - International Pole Vault Meeting; World Indoor Tour Silver meeting
                • 5 Mar - Perche Elite Tour (Rouen) - International Pole Vault Meeting; World Indoor Tour Silver meeting
                • 6 Mar - Meeting de Paris Indoor - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting
A one month subscription to Athle TV isn't terribly expensive and if, say, you subscribed on 28 January you'd get 9 live indoor meetings in the next month. That would work out at less than 50p per meeting since the cost is 4.99 Euros which converts to £4.19 plus any small exchange rate charge that your bank applies.

Although I'm loathe to encourage national Federations to do this, I also recognise that they're not taking the mickey by charging silly money (e.g., £10 per month) and so I signed up for a month and watched Friday night's Meeting de Lyon. I can confirm that the service does work in Britain. The stream was pretty much TV broadcast quality with commentary - they did forget the on-screen clock for some races but they showed all the results. They had startlists for most events but on-screen info about Long Jump distances was lacking. All in all, an 8 out of 10.

To set up an account and then subscribe go to https://athletv.fr/signup (the site will recognise you're in Britain and provide pages in English).

Set up an account then, once logged in, you can subscribe using the "Account" link.

Subscriptions are automatically renewed unless you unsubscribe at least 24 hours before. You can manage your subscription from your user profile.

I'll post nearer the time regarding their schedule for outdoor meetings.

If you do subscribe for this indoor season let me know by Private Message - not because I'm nosey but because if I know others are watching these meetings I will continue to post startlists, timetables etc for them.

                • Live streams/broadcasts for Wednesday 26th January to Thursday 27th January:

                  Wednesday
                  • Zatopek:10 incl Australian 10,000m Championships (Melbourne, VIC, AUS) - WA Contintental Tour Challenger series; The women's 10,000 features the 1-2 from last year, Rose Davies & Izzy Batt-Doyle. It seems Batt-Doyle has knocked on a bit more since then so I'd expect her to turn the tables this time. Charlotte Purdue also competes alongside some old-timers such as Sinead Diver, Jess Stenson (nee Trengove) & Eloise Wellings; In the Men's race McSweyn & Tiernan may be missing but pretty much most of Australia's next best are competing - Brett Robinson, David McNeill, Jack Rayner, Jack Bruce etc; The mid-distance undercard is decent - Bissett & Sanford are in the W 800 but perhaps the best of these events will be the W 1500 featuring 2 of Australia's brightest prospects - 20yo Abbey Caldwell (4:07 PB) and 16yo Claudia Hollingsworth (4:12 PB) - along with other good young athletes such as steeplers Cara Feain-Ryan & Georgia Winkcup
                  Thursday
                  • Kladno Indoor (Kladno, CZE) - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting; High Jump & Shot Put meeting; No startlists for this yet but Stanek, Bertemes, Lincoln, Schwanitz, Roos, Ghazal & Glebauskas are some of the athletes due to compete

Next major post on Thursday evening for Friday's World Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Karlsruhe. Also, let me tell you now that Saturday & Sunday are loaded with all sorts of big events - indoor, cross country, road racing & race walking - as well as some outdoor action Down Under.

If you haven't yet seen it, read my post 2 posts above about the situation with live streaming of French meetings from now on.

                    Friday
                    • Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe, GER) - World Indoor Tour Gold meeting; No need to tease up these indoor Gold meetings!

It's confirmed that the WA YouTube stream starts at 7pm UK time. The events before that (sprint & hurdles heats, starts of field events etc) are on the German TV stream - see the link in the document.

                  • If any non-Brits are around, or if you are going to Barbuda or the Grenadines tomorrow this is where the World Indoor Tour coverage will be.

                    • Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 29th January to Sunday 30th January:

Remember to let me know by PM if you've signed up for the Athle TV streaming service for the next month (see 4 posts above). If so, I'll also start including the French meetings here.

                      Saturday to Sunday
                      • Palaindoor National Meeting (Ancona, ITA) - Some good domestic fields here including the M 800 with 5 men at 1:48.1 or better, headed by European U23 champion Simone Barontini. The W 400 includes Folurunso, Coiro & Marchiando. Folurunso is also entered in the 60 with Siragusa & Dosso.
                      Saturday
                      • UND Open (Grand Forks, ND, USA) - NCAA D1 & mostly D2 meeting hosted by the Uni of North Dakota; Not bad mostly D2 fields here
                      • Millrose Games (New York, USA) - World Indoor Tour Gold meeting
                      Sunday
                      • Cooks Classic incl NZL Mile Championships & U20 3000m Championships (Whanganui, NZL) - WA Contintental Tour Challenger series; Some good athletes competing here; Julian Oakley & Eric Speakman headline the Men's Mile; It's all well covered by the Preview linked in the document
                      • Osaka International Women's Marathon (Osaka, JPN) - WA Elite Label race; Domestic-only this year and not quite the Japanese depth of previous years but it should still feature a good race between Mizuki Matsuda & Sayaka Sato. I fancy that Sato (still improving) will get the better of Matsuda who is on the way back from injury and was off the pace with a 32:50-ish 10km Ekiden leg a few weeks ago; A pair of 2:24 women, Yukari Abe & Mao Uesugi, might also get in the mix (both set their PBs here last year)
                      • Osaka Half Marathon (Osaka, JPN) - A Men's & Women's race run simultaneously with the Women's Marathon but in the opposite direction; The Women's race features Kayoko Fukishi in her last pro race and some other good athletes including Yuka Hori & Hitomi Mizuguchi; The Men's field looks very competitive with sub-61 man Kenta Murayama the likely favourite
                      • Spanish Open 35km Race Walking Championships & U20/U18 & U16 Autonomous Federations Championships (Lepe, ESP) - World Race Walking Tour Bronze meeting; Good domestic fields augmented by a few very good internationals such as Alex Wright (IRL), Rafal Sikora (POL) and, in the Women's race, former 50km World Champ Ines Henriques (POR); The streaming coverage is usually good for these Spanish RW Championships
                      • Spanish Cross Country Championships - Sen, U23 & U20 Individual & Autonomous Federations (Jaén, ESP) - Strong domestic fields especially in the Men's senior race which is very deep despite the absence of Mayo & Oukhelfen; The Women's race also includes Ethiopia's Likina Amebaw, a mainstay of the World Cross Country Tour this season; The Preview linked in the document is very thorough
                      • Circuito Nacional de Caminata Coatzacoalcos (Coatzacoalcos, MEX) - World Race Walking Tour Bronze meeting; These are the Mexican Trials for the World Team RW Championships in 5 weeks' time; Mexico is a strong RW nation and there's quality athletes in every race, e.g., in the Men's 35km there's Jose Leyver, Ever Palma & Jose Luis Doctor - all world class performers. In the Women's 20km we have the last 2 World U20 champions - Alegna Gonzalez (in 2018) who transitioned very nicely to the seniors and finished 5th at Tokyo, and Sofia Ramos Rodriguez (in 2021) who made a nice 1:32 debut at this distance last Spring; Valeria Ortuno is another youngster (23yo) in this race with strong credentials, walking 1:29:11 last year
                      • Cinque Mulini (San Vittore Olona, ITA) - World Cross Country Tour Gold meeting; Pretty strong line-up in the Men's race including Tadese Worku, Oscar Chelimo & 2021 winner, Nibret Melak; In the Women's race World U20 3000m champ Theresia Muthoni (based in Japan) faces the silver medalist from that race, Zenah Jemutai Yego, as well as Lucy Mawia Muli (a fixture on the Tour this season), Nadia Battocletti, Klara Lukan & Anna Arnaudo
                      • Elán Meeting (Bratislava, SVK) - There's no England team here as there usually is but an Austrian team joins the Slovaks & Czechs competing, amongst them several of Slovakia's best
                      • Hvězdy v Nehvizdech (Nehvizdy, CZE) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; International SP, HJ & LJ meeting; Good fields here, especially in the Men's High Jump that includes Ghazal, JuVaughn Harrison, Woo (KOR), Tobe & Ivanov. Scott Lincoln is in the Shot
All the links & details at https://www.dropbox.com/s/zk0ymxlvoq...01-30.odt?dl=0

Next major post on Monday evening for Tuesday's Erfurt Indoor meeting and possibly (depending on info available) Wednesday's Valencia meeting and the International High Jump meeting in Udine.

                            • Erfurt Indoor (Erfurt, GER) - Some decent fields here, especially on the women's side, e.g., Montag, Mihambo, Sina Mayer, Kwadwo & Evelyn (BAR) in the 60 and Hering, Bartha-Keri (HUN), Spill & Kohlberg in the 800
