Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 21st May to Sunday 22nd May:

The European meetings are starting to ramp up and it will get very busy, very quickly!

    Saturday to Sunday
    • Ongoing Ibero-American Championships (La Nucía & Torrevieja (Alicante), ESP) - See 2 posts above
    • Ongoing Kanto Region University Championships (Tokyo, JPN) - See 3 posts above
    • Portarathlon (Naxos, GRE) - World Combined Events Tour Bronze meeting; One for the CE afficionados only, with just 2 Women over 6000 points (Hanna Kasyanova & Sofia Ifantidou) and none of the Men over 7600 points
    Saturday
    • Track Night NYC (New York, USA) - WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting; International mid-distnace meeting (800s to 5000); The highlight here is a very good Women's 800 with Wilsons Ajee & Allie, Adelle Tracey, Olivia Baker, Sadi Henderson & 16yo mega-talent Sophia Gorriaran; The other 'A' races vary in quality. Lizzie Bird heads a semi-decent Steeple field
    • Halle International Throws AKA Hallesche Werfertage (Halle, GER) - A number of good names competing here and several of Britain's best are lining up; The Women's Shot Put looks particularly strong
    • Göteborgsvarvet incl Swedish Half Marathon Championships (Gothenburg, SWE) - International Half Marathon; Good fields here with 3 sub-60 Men and 4 sub-68 Women, including Tigist Assefa who won the Adizero Road to Records half 3 weeks ago in 67:28
    • Lange Laufnacht (Karlsruhe, GER) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; International mid-distance meeting (800 to 5000); Not as strong as previous years but the M 1500 'A' race looks competitive as does the Women's 800 'A' race including Vanessa Scaunet (BEL; 2:02.0 PB) & Claire Mooney. Britain's Eloise Walker goes in the 5000 alongside the likes of Lisa Rooms (BEL) & Sara Christiansson (SWE; 15:39 PB)
    • Birmingham Diamond League (Birmingham, GBR)
    • Spåret 5000m (Stockholm, SWE) - Decent field in the 'A' race with the likes of Emil Blomberg (8:20 steepler), Kalle Berglund (3:33.7 NR at 1500) and fast Danish youngster, Joel Ibler Lilleso
    • Papaflessia (Kalamata, GRE) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; The Long Jump comps are definitely the feature here with Tentoglou & Montler and also a good Women's field. The Women's HJ is also pretty good and there's a decent W 800 with Sarna, Sclabas & Evangelidou. Elsewhere there's a smattering of good foreign athletes in amongst some good Greeks, including Skrzy in the W 100
    • Milla Urbana de Aranda de Duero (Aranda de Duero, ESP) - Road Miles; The Spanish do love their road miles! By the looks of it there's quite strong domestic fields for this, including Esther Guerrero and Olympic 800 finalist Adrian Ben
    Sunday
    • Loughborough International (Loughborough, GBR) - The usual match format with a ton of guest races thrown in too; Loughborough seem to have gone out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to browse the fields easily! Why are neetings in this country so bad at presenting athletics info?!
    • Great Manchester Run (Manchester, GBR) - International 10km road race; Strong domestic fields especially in the Women's race, augmented by some strong international competition in the shape of Obiri, Sara Hall, McSweyn, Jack Rayner & the Robertson brothers. Mo Farah has withdrawn
    • Mityng Gwiazd na Rynku Kościuszki AKA Meeting of the Stars at Kościuszko Square (Białystok, POL) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; City square meeting - M + W Shot Put, W High Jump and M Pole Vault; Field info is a bit scant but there's several big name Poles as well as athletes such as Mirela Demireva, Matt Ludwig & Harry Coppell
    • International Meeting of "Castiglione Della Pescaia" (Grosseto, ITA) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; A nice little meeting this, possibly stronger than it's ever been before (taking place in Grosseto this year instead of Castiglione); The two big draws are likely to be Sasha Zhoya (110H) & Omanyala (100 & 200) but don't ignore the rest. There's a good Men's 800 with 5 sub-1:45 athletes including Tuka and Italy's new "find" (i.e., transferee), Catalin Tecuceanu. The Men's 5000 is pretty good with Oscar Chelimo, Boniface Kibiwott, Santiago Catrofe (URU) & Jerry Motsau. The Men's TJ is strong with Andy Diaz, Triki & 3 good Chinese. The Women's 1500 is full of good young Ethiopians and Kenyans as well as del Buono & Elena Bello (4:09 PB recently for this 800m specialist). Borthwick & Lake compete in the HJ with Geraschenko, Vallortigara & Trost. There's also a few other Brits competing, e.g., Banigo & Marrs

Live streams/broadcasts for Friday 20th May:

Track Night NYC that I mentioned in the last post is actually on in the early hours of Saturday so will be a part of tomorrow's post instead.

    Friday to Sunday
    • Ibero-American Championships (La Nucía & Torrevieja (Alicante), ESP) - I'm really looking forward to this. A biennial event for the Iberian countries and any country in the Americas and Africa where Spanish or Portuguese is the first language (though there's only a handful of Africans entered). Many of the 23 countries attending have selected strong teams (max 2 per nation per event) and as a result there's a lot of established names competing and many of the fields are good. The standout fields include the horizontal jumps, the Race Walking fields and the Women's 400 with Paulino, Roxana Gomez, Paola Moran (MEX), Gabby Scott (PUR) & Catia Azevedo
    Friday
    • International Race Walking Festival Alytus 2022 (Alytus, LTU) - OK fields for the senior 20km races, including a few good Ukrainians, but I think this has suffered this year by being right inbetween the World Tour Gold meetings in Madrid (last Monday) & La Coruña next weekend
    • Lisek w domu - Fox at Home (Duszniki, POL) - International Men's Pole Vault meeting; Every top-class male pole vaulter has to have his own meeting and the entry list for Lisek's is decent without being dazzling

Next major post tomorrow (Friday) evening for the weekend's events.

Live streams/broadcasts for Wednesday 18th May to Thursday 19th May:

    Wednesday
    • Meeting International Città Di Savona - Memorial Giulio Ottolia (Savona, ITA) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; There's some good fields here, e.g., Jacobs, Vicaut & Cisse in the 100, the Women's 200 including Paulino, Neita, Dobbin & Kaddari and a good Women's 100 Hurdles; There's a few other Brits competing too
    Thursday to Sunday
    • Kanto Region University Championships (Tokyo, JPN) - A lot of the top Unis are in this region so it's a pretty strong championships; Unfortunately, the final day of track action is on a TV channel we can't watch but there's plenty of finals before then (and the Sunday morning Men's half marathon)
    Thursday
    • USATF Distance Classic (Walnut, CA, USA) - WA Continental Tour Silver meeting; Good international fields for this mid-distance meeting, e.g., McBride, Jewett, Saruni & Harris in the M 800. The Women's 1500 in particular is stacked with Klosterhalfen, Nozomi Tanaka, Abbey Caldwell (AUS), Marta Freitas Pen and a whole host of good Americans including Osika & Schlachtenhaufen; Neil Gourley and Jenny Nesbitt are also competing
All the links & details at https://www.dropbox.com/s/v19htbhaq6...05-19.odt?dl=0

Next major post on Thursday evening for Friday's events - Track Night NYC (a good mid-distance meeting), Pole Vault in Poland, the Alytus Race Walking Festival (LTU), and the Ibero-American Championships which continue through to Sunday.

It seems that only a few sports are being streamed at this week's ISF Gymnasiade School Summer Games in France and the athletics is not one of them. I'll double check that later.

Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 14th May to Monday 16th May:

    Wow, busy! Really busy!

I'm also hoping for a stream for Sunday's World 10k Bengaluru.

    Saturday to Thursday 19th
    • South East Asian Games AKA SEA Games (Hanoi, VIE) - The fields won't be stellar but this is a huge event for countries in that region and, having watched some of it before, it's quite entertaining
    Saturday to Sunday
    • PAC-12 Conference Championships (Eugene, OR, USA) - NCAA D1 conference; No need to big-up this conference. It's one of the best ones
    • East Japan Corporate Championships (Tendo, JPN) - These championships are always pretty stacked from a domestic point of view. For example, in the Men's 10,000 there's 10 sub-28 men. Some big Japanese names are set to compete including Ririka Hironaka in the W 5000 up against 3 other sub-15 women (all Kenyan) and Mao Ichiyama in the W 10,000
    • Chubu Region Corporate Championships (Tajimi, JPN) - Not as strong or as busy as the East Japan event above, but not without its merits. For example, Nozomi Tanaka is entered in the 1500 & 3000 and matches up again versus Helen Ekarare Lobun (KEN) who beat Tanaka in the 1500 at the WACT Gold meeting in Tokyo last Sunday
    • Wiesław Czapiewski Memorial (Bydgoszcz, POL) - World Combined Events Tour Gold meeting; Not stellar fields but the Hep includes Adrianna Sulek & Mia Sillman (FIN; 6209 PB); Day 1 is mixed in with a "regular" T&F meeting that's just domestic and doesn't look particularly strong
    • Ongoing Kansai Region Corporate Championships (Naruto, JPN) - See the post above
    • Ongoing Conference USA (C-USA) Championships (San Antonio, TX, USA) - NCAA D1 conference; See the post above
    Saturday
    • Polish Open 35km Race Walking Championships (Opole, POL) - World Race Walking Tour Bronze meeting; As you'd expect there's strong domestic fields, including Olympic 50km champ Dawid Tomala; No idea about who's competing from other countries
    • ? Belfast Irish Milers Meet (Belfast, GBR) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; As well as mid-distances this meeting includes some sprints; Some decent races here with Archie Davis & John Fitzsimmons in the 800, a good Irish/British Women's 800 that also includes Marissa Damink (NED; 2:02.9 PB), in the W 1500 there's Alex Bell, Erin Wallace & Jenny Selman and Tom Mortimer in the 5000
    • Mid Summer Track Night (Vienna, AUT) - Not a great meeting but there's a few big-ish names competing like Neziri, V Hudson, Shukh (both Javelin), Gajanova & Hinriksdottir (the latter two both 800). Jamal Rhoden-Stevens, Rebekah Walton & Ben Greenwood (1500) are also competing
    • Night Of The 10,000m PBs incl British 10,000m Championships & Trials and Emsley Carr Mile & Millicent Fawcett Mile (Highgate, GBR) - Pretty stacked domestic fields for the 10,000s and happily it's retained some of the international feel even though the European 10,000m Cup is being held in France now. In the Women's 10,000 McColgan, Judd & Markovc will be targeting the win/podium and the Eugene standard (31:25), whilst behind them there's a large group including Arter, Ockenden, Inglis & Harrison who are likely taking aim at European & Comm Games standards (32-low to 32-mid - all detailed in the linked Preview article). Internationally there's Sarah Lahti (SWE; 31:11 PB), Izzi Batt-Doyle (AUS; 31:43 PB), Camilla Richardsson (FIN) & Carla Salome Rocha (POR); In the Men's race Yeman Crippa, Mohamed Mohumed (GER; fresh off a 13:03 PB) and the 2 Ugandans are the likely favourites with Atkin, Cairess, Connor, Jake Smith & Jack Rowe amongst the Brits battling for British podium places and/or various standards; In the Millicent Fawcett Mile there's a solid international field that includes the returning Melissa Courtney-Bryant
    • Vergotia 22 (Kefalonia, GRE) - International sprints & field meeting; Looks like a decent meeting with Tentoglou the big headliner. Others competing include Florentina Iusco, T Franklin, Spyridoula Karydi (all LJ), Mariya Vukovic, Tihomir Ivanov & Andrei Toader
    • Birmingham Uni BMC Grand Prix Round 1 (Uni of Birmingham, GBR) - The highlights here ... Dustin & Pattison in the 800 and Izzy Boffey in the Women's. Aime Pratt is attacking Lizzie Bird's 6:11.79 NR in the 2000SC and in the 3000SC Seddon & Norman face U20 Euro XC champion Axel Vang Christensen (DEN)
    • Meeting du RAN (Le Lorrain, Martinique, FRA) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; No idea who specifically is competing here, but it looks likely to involve a lot of Carribean athletes
    • River Bank Run incl USA 25km Championships (Grand Rapids, MI, USA) - Whilst last week's Women's race at the Half Marathon Championships was quite poor (with the exception of Sisson), this week the Women's field is much stronger than the Men's. D'Amato and Tuliamuk are hogging the pre-race headlines but it also includes Thweatt, Paquette, Pagano, Lindsay Flanagan & Dakotah Lindwurm; Zeinasellassie, Simbassa & Stinson look like the strength of the Men's field
    • See the post above for ongoing NCAA Conference Championships finishing on Saturday
    Sunday
    • Pacific Distance Carnival & Canadian 10,000m Championships (Burnaby, BC, CAN) - The feature 10,000m races aren't super deep but on both sides there's 3 athletes who look like the contenders - Bruchet, Philibert-Thiboutot & Linkletter in the Men's and Sexton (32:04 road PB), Gollish & Coates in the Women's; I imagine that if conditions are right these athletes will be going for times good enough to get to the Comm Games (Canada has a more complicated "standards" system so I can't tell you what they actually need!)
    • Genève Marathon & Half Marathon (Geneva, SUI) - Marathon is a WA Label race; Solid fields for each of the 4 races without them being particularly deep
    • Copenhagen Marathon (Copenhagen, DEN) - WA Label race; Not the stellar affair that this city's half marathon is (course records are 2:09 & 2:29). The men's race features a number of 2:08-2:11 men as well as Daniel Kipchumba (59:06 Half) making his marathon debut; The star name in the Women's field is Helah Kiprop though given she's 37 and probably past her 2015-16 best she'll probably be challenged by the rest of the slim field that starts with PBs in the 2:24-2:30 range
    • Czech Super League Round 1 (Ostrava, CZE) - As always the fields for this League are domestically quite strong; The Czech Federation's streams of meetings are usually very good too
    • URSAPHARM Speerwurfmeeting (Offenburg, GER) - International Javelin meeting; A fair number of very good athletes competing here, headed by Vetter & Hoffman on the Men's side and Hussong & Ogrodnikova on the Women's. Serbian sensation Adriana Vilagos is also in the senior Women's comp. In the Men's is also Britain's Joe Harris
    • Stramilano Half Marathon (Milan, ITA) - Small elite fields for this famous old race. The Men's line-up is OK headed by Kenyans whilst the Women's is mostly domestic, headed by Giovanna Epis (now a 2:25 marathoner)
    • Meeting International Montgeron-Essonne (Montgeron, FRA) - WA Continental Tour Challenger series; I've included this because someone might want to pay the 4.99 Euros for a month's worth of French meetings (see 2 posts above); This is a decent meeting. To give you an idea of the standard - in the M 100 there's Cisse, Devin Quinn & Zeze; Gabriel Tual, Smaili & Robert go in the 800; The Men's 5000 is pretty strong incl Gressier, Hendrix, Ndikumenayo & Foppen; Nicole Yeargin goes in the 400 and Emma Nwofor in the 100H against Valette, Compper & Koala
    • Milla Urbana Real Valle de Cayón (Sarón, ESP) - Road Miles; Strong domestic fields in the elite races here, especially in the Women's which includes Marta Perez, Esther Guerrero, Solange Pereira, 18yo star Carla Dominguez and 2021 Euro U20 1500 medalist Mireya Arnedillo; The Men's race includes 3:33 man Jesus Gomez, steepler Fernando Carro, Kevin Lopez and Nassim Hassaous, 7th at the Euro XC Champs in Dublin
    • Run Your City Cape Town 10k (Cape Town, RSA) - International road race; Good fields here, headed by Daniel Simiu Ebenyo (26:59 PB) and on the Women's side Genzebe Dibaba and Stella Chesang (31:14 PB)
    Monday
    • Gran Premio Internacional Madrid Marcha (Madrid, ESP) - World Race Walking Tour Gold meeting; Taking place in the heart of Madrid on the iconic Gran Vía which does indeed look like a very grand street! These 10km races are loaded with great athletes from across the globe, e.g., the Men's includes Olympic champ Massimo Stano, Percy Karlstrom, Kaihua Wang (CHN; no.2 A-T at 20km), Daniel Pintado (ECU), Caio Bonfim (BRA) & Evan Dunfee (CAN) amongst a number of big names; On the Women's side the field is led by Shinjie Qieyang, Kimberley Garcia (PER) & Johana Ordonez (ECU). For GB Bosworth, Lewis & Davies are competing; The live streams that LaLigaSportsTV have produced for Race Walking this year have been very good and the organisers have also been talking a big game regarding presentation of RW. So, I'm expecting great things from the live stream!
    Monday to Friday 20th
    • ISF Gymnasiade School Summer Games (Caen, FRA) - To be added to the bottom of the document once I've got to grips with the what and when!
All the links & details at https://www.dropbox.com/s/ny9f7zvo0d...05-16.odt?dl=0

Next major post possibly on Monday evening. If not, definitely on Tuesday evening for Wednesday's Savona meeting.
