Turned out to be quite important, according to an Italian on the Totallympics website. Chucked out a corrupt & incompetent leadership & replaced them. Probably not as exciting as a 60m hurdles, though.

In the women's Mahuchikh & Levchenko face-off alongside others including Trost, Vallortigara & Sofie Skoog. STARTLISTS UPDATED - no Tom Gale or Nikki Manson
- Czech Indoor Gala (Ostrava, CZE) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; Not as strong as previous years but still some good athletes on show. In particular, the W 400 with Bolingo Mbongo, Wyciszkiewicz, Gaworska & Vasiliou looks good as does the M 800 with Webb, Rozmys, Borkowski, Snejder & Hodbod

Sadly, Sunday's PSD Bank Indoor Meeting in Dortmund is Pay-Per-View (4.99 EUR) so I haven't listed that. There's some good fields there so I'm a bit miffed but I can understand it in the current situation. To be honest, I'm surprised that more meetings haven't gone that way.
Anyway, nice variety this weekend with indoor, multi-events, outdoor and for the first time in about a year, some Cross Country!
Friday- Hvězdy v Nehvizdech (Nehvizdy, CZE) - World Indoor Tour Special Bronze meeting; SP, HJ & LJ meeting; Decent fields with the M HJ looking like the stand-out event with Tamberi, Zayas, Wilson, Robinson, Chris Baker etc
- ISTAF Indoor (Berlin, GER) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; 60s, hurdles & field; Good but not stellar fields here. Mihambo faces Bekh-Romanchuk in the W LJ
- Bearcat Invite (Maryville, Missouri, USA) - NCAA D2 meeting; The last of 4 good indoor D2 meetings hosted by Northwest Missouri State; At least 14 teams competing including some strong ones like Lincoln, Missouri Southern, Pittsburg State and the hosts
- Akron Invitational (Akron, OH, USA) - NCAA D1 meeting; Teams competing - Akron, Kent, Buffalo, Miami, Western Michigan & Texas State
- International Track Meet (Christchurch, NZL) - WA Continental Tour Bronze outdoor meeting; Domestic-only this year; The usual suspects competing
- New South Wales 5000m Championships (Sydney, AUS) - also 800 & 1500; The Women's 5000 looks good with Blundell, Paige Campbell, Pompeani, Reid and 16yo sensation Imogen Stewart; Some decent 'A' races on the undercard too
- Copa Iberdrola - Women's Spanish Club Championships (Barcelona, ESP) - Some nice fields here, Spanish club athletics being bolstered by a number of foreign internationals living in Spain and competing for the top clubs
- Meeting Metz Moselle Athlelor (Metz, FRA) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; A lot of really good fields here, headlined by the M 1500 with Barega, Lewandowski, Souleiman, Birgen, Fontes & Elliot Giles; In the W 400 there's Bol, Sprunger, Klaver & Guei
- Copa RFEA - Men's Spanish Club Championships (Barcelona, ESP) - Like the women's comp above, some good athletes here
- Husker Quad (Lincoln, NB, USA) - NCAA D1 meeting; Nebraska vs Illinois vs Iowa vs Minnesota; This will be the best-quality NCAA meeting we've had on the streams so far this winter; Not available on-demand though, so you'd need to watch it live
- Perche Elite Tour Rouen (Rouen, FRA) - World Indoor Tour Special Silver meeting; M + W international Pole Vault meeting; Duplantis, Kendricks & Lavillenie and in the Women's there's Stefanidi, Bradshaw, Newman, Sutej & Zhuk; Live on Eurosport 2 but for those without Eurosport I'm waiting to see if the French regional TV stream isn't geo-blocked
- Adams State Grizzly Open (Alamosa, CO, USA) - NCAA D2 meeting; Good quality in most of the events; Most of the teams competing are in the strong RMAC (Rocky Mountain) conference; 2 of Adams State's 3 very good Irish girls are competing (Stephanie Cotter stepping down to the 800; Eilish Flanagan in the 3000)
- Italian U23 & U20 Championships (Ancona, ITA) - Italy seems to have a good crop of youngsters at the moment and nearly all are competing here
- Indoor Combined Events Tallinn (Tallinn, EST) - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting; Men's Heptathlon over both days; Women's Pentathlon on Sunday; OK field in the Men's with Nowak, Zhuk & some decent Baltic athletes. In the Women's Mokhnyuk & Sulek should be well ahead of lots of youngsters
- Cross Internacional Ciudad de Valladolid (Valladolid, ESP) - I'm excited to have some Cross Country to watch again! Not super-deep fields but Lamdassem & Martos should be challenging in the Men's race whilst Irene Sanchez-Escribano & Likina Amebaw should head the Women's
- American Track League 3 (Fayetteville, AR, USA) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; A few more non-Americans competing in this week's meeting it seems; A few Brits entered including James West (Mile), David King, Adelle Tracey (800) & Tiff Porter; Fred Kerley going in pursuit of the indoor 400 WR

- Victorian Milers Club Meet #4 (Box Hill, VIC, AUS) - John Higham 800s & Victorian Mile Championships; Solid, if unspectacular, fields but the weekend's NSW 5000m Championships & mid-distance 'A' races showed you don't need top fields for good, fun racing
- Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais (Liévin, FRA) - World Indoor Tour Gold meeting; Nothing needs to be said!
- Ukrainian Indoor Championships (Sumy, UKR) - The on-screen graphics will be in Ukranian but there will be English startlists and timetable at the link provided; Mahuchikh & Levchenko both in the HJ on Thursday, starting at 1.30pm
- ? Victorian 5000m Championships (Box Hill, AUS) - Not yet sure if there'll be a stream for this. There probably will be though; No entry lists yet

Saturday's IFAM Indoor meeting in Gent doesn't appear as if it's going to be streamed/broadcast.
Friday- Day 3 of the Ukrainian Indoor Championships (Sumy, UKR) - See post & document above
- Porritt Classic - Men's 5000m (Hamilton, NZ) - A decent domestic-only field; Postponed to 9pm due to unfavourable winds
- Orlen Cup (Łódź, POL) - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting; Short sprints/hurdles & field; Some pretty good fields here
- Minnesota State Triangular (Mankato, MN, USA) - REMOVED from the document because the fields aren't that good
- 6th Annual Gorilla Classic (Pittsburg, KS, USA) - NCAA D2 meeting; 300m track; Traditionally a really good D2 meeting; Quite a few of the teams that competed in the last 4 weekend's Northwest Missouri meetings are competing here, some of them highly nationally ranked in D2; The coverage of track races at Pitt State's last meeting seemed to improve, hence this meeting's inclusion this week
- Porritt Classic (Hamilton, NZL) - Domestic-only, with the usual suspects
- Balkan U20 Indoor Championships (Sofia, BUL) - No startlists yet but I always enjoy these Balkan Championships (the senior champs are next weekend)
- CMCM Indoor Meeting (Kirchberg, LUX) - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting; First time this meeting has been streamed and there's some nice fields, augmented by some Kenyans
- H-Town Speedcity Series #3 (Houston, TX, USA) - NCAA D1 meeting; Teams competing - Houston, Temple, Cincinnati, Central Florida, Southern Methodist, South Florida & Stephen F Austin State
- New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (Staten Island, NY, USA) - World Indoor Tour Gold meeting; Some "off" distances included here, about which I've been having a debate on the T&FN forum, e.g., there's the Women's 300, 400 & 500!! Anyway, onto the athletes ... obviously US-heavy but quite a lot of really big names and there's several Brits competing too including Jake Wightman in the 1500
- Spanish U23 Championships (Valencia, ESP) - Some decent fields here
- Japanese National Corporate Half Marathon Championships (Yamaguchi, JPN) - Some of Japan's absolute best are missing but the depth is still bonkers as you'd expect in Japan
- Spanish 50km/35km Race Walking Championships & Autonomous Federations U20 & U16 Race Walking Championships (Sevilla, ESP) - After the Chinese & Japanese Championships this is arguably the next strongest of the national RW championships; The Men are racing 50km for Tokyo qualifiers (3:50:00) but the Women are going over 35km since that will be the longer distance at Eugene22 (no 50km for women in Tokyo); The Women's race is loaded with Perez, Takacs, Garcia-Caro, Juarez, Gonzalez, Pinedo & Portugal's former World champ, Ines Henriques; There's also an international flavour to the Men's with Joao Viera (Doha Silver) and Alex Wright (IRL) amongst those; It can get potentially confusing with so many races overlapping but the Spanish RW broadcasts are often helpful with captioning and the bib numbers are organised distinctly for each race
- Monaco Run 5km Herculis (Monaco, MON) - International 5km road races; Cheptegei & Beatrice Chepkoech head the fields
- Meeting de l'Eure (Val-de-Reuil, FRA) - World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting; Some really good fields here, including Holloway, Zango and in the 800 Gudaf Tsegay; Elliot Giles goes in the 1500

Nice live stream for the Balkan U20 Championships just started, via https://www.facebook.com/spisanie.atletika/videos/
They're doing a good job at the moment juggling 3 field events before the track action starts & there's some on-screen graphics and English commentary too.
A decent standard in many events, helped that membership of the Balkan Athletics Federation has taken in about 10 other nearby non-Balkan countries such as Turkey, Ukraine & Austria. A lot of the competitors are not yet 18 with quite a few only being 15 or 16.
In the HJ for Serbia, Dragutin Topic's daughter, Angelina, is competing. She has a 1.85 PB.Comment

Your choice of the better national championships this weekend - a chance to weigh up some contenders for Euro Indoors - as well as my big treat this weekend, the fabulous Japanese 20km Race Walking Championships.
The quality of coverage for all 6 of the national indoor championships will be excellent, whether it's a TV broadcast or just being live-streamed.
Not many NCAA meetings this weekend because they're gearing up for Conference Championships next weekend.
Friday to Sunday- Victorian State Championships - Week 1 (Melbourne, AUS) - Includes all the age group comps as well so it's a huge event that has to be split into 2 weekends;
- Spanish Indoor Championships (Madrid, ESP)
- French Indoor Championships (Miramas, FRA)
- Al Campbell Invitational (Akron, OH, USA) - NCAA D1/D2 meeting; Decent meeting, probably the best Akron have put on this indoor season; The teams competing are Akron, Cincinnati, Walsh (D2), Bowling Green & Xavier (Ohio)
- Italian Indoor Championships (Ancona, ITA)
- Czech Indoor Championships (Ostrava, CZE)
- German Indoor Championships (Dortmund, GER)
- Conference USA Indoor Championships (Birmingham, AL, USA) - NCAA D1 conference; Not one of the strongest conferences but not bad all the same
- Polish Indoor Championships (Toruń, POL)
- Capital Classic (Wellington, NZL) - Oceania Area Permit Meeting
- Balkan Indoor Championships (Istanbul, TUR) - With the exception of Spanovic, most of the absolute biggest stars of Balkan athletics aren't here but there's still some nice fields and good competition. Ukraine have sent a strong team. Mismas vs Bobocea in the 1500 looks like one of the highlights. In the W 3000 hopefully Gega, Rotaru (nee Barca) & Lukan will prevent returning drug cheat Gamze Bulut from getting on the podium.
- Japanese 20km & U20 Race Walking Championships (Kobe, JPN) - on a 1km loop; This rivals the Chinese RW Championships as the best quality national RW Championships in the world. Where the strength and depth of the Chinese Championships lies with the women especially, the opposite is true in the Japanese equivalent with the men's field being super-loaded; These Championships - always held in Kobe - have, in the last 5 editions, produced 14 performances of 1:19:00 or better. WR-holder Yusuke Suzuki isn't here (focusing on 50km for Tokyo) but everyone else who matters is - World Champ Toshikazu Yamanishi, Ikeda, Takahashi, Fujisawa, Koga, Noda, Matsunaga & Arai; Whilst the Japanese women don't have the strength and depth of the men, they are on the rise - here Kumiko Okada (NR 1:27:41) and Nanako Fujii (1:28:58 PB) will race each other for the first time since they placed 6th & 7th at Doha 2019, the best results ever by Japanese women in a World/Olympic RW. Kaori Kawazoe has the best shot at grabbing the vacant third spot on the Olympic team but would need to take 1m 10s off her PB to meet the 1:30:00 standard the Japanese have set; They also have a number of promising girls - last year at these championships several 16 & 17 year olds clocked impressive times in the 5km. The winner of the last two U20 races here, Minori Yabuta, has elected not to defend her title and is in the senior 20km instead this time; By the way, the coverage on the stream was very good last year and all the races are conducted separately so it won't get too chaotic on the course. Also, the Entry Lists are in English with bib numbers so it's easy to identify who's who
- The Ten (secret location, CA, USA) - M & W 10,000m; Going for Olympic Standards (27:28 & 31:25); In the Women's there's Karissa Schweizer, Emily Infeld & Eilish McColgan amongst others, whilst the Men's race includes Marc Scott, Ed Cheserek, Grant Fisher & Ben True
- American Track League 4 (Fayetteville, AR, USA) - World Indoor Tour Silver meeting; Allyson Felix & Aries Merritt amongst those competing though the fields don't look as good as the earlier ATL meetings; Tracey, Neita & Ofili (now Sember) also competing

Really disappointing that all those other countries’ national champs are available for us to watch but our Trials can only be views via highlights. UKA is really letting athletics fans and athletes down currently. Cancelled events. No live coverage when they finally put something on. No lobbying of government to open tracks for training - the perfect place for socially distanced exercise. All I’ve seen from UKA is the ill-judged proposal to equalise cross country distances for women and girls.Comment

Yes, British Athletics are useless. If Vinco didn't exist would British Athletics step in and fill the breach for all those other domestic meetings? I doubt it. If something's not a big money-spinner they don't seem interested.
Compare and contrast to the fabulous year-round streaming we get direct from the national federations of Italy, Japan, Spain & the Czech Republic.Comment

Joanna Coates is saying they are only showing highlights because they have ‘prioritised athletes and coaches’. But if they have highlights, that means it’s filmed - so why not stream it? You don’t need a commentator but if you do have one, they can do it remotely.Comment
