Live streams for Saturday 21st to Monday 23rd November:
A busy long weekend in Japan (Monday is a public holiday) helping to flesh the roster out. There's tons of 10,000s going on as well as Ekidens. The track 10,000 may be a dying discipline elsewhere but it's certainly alive and well in Japan! Also, if you watch only 2 or 3 Ekidens a year, be sure to make the Queen's Ekiden one of them - 1) The entry list reads like a Who's Who of current Japanese women's distance running and 2) it's over the marathon distance whereas most of the men's Ekidens require much more stamina from the viewer as they are usually double the length or more.
Saturday- Hachioji Long Distance Meet (Hachioji, JPN) - 9 Men's 10,000m races; The 'B' race is actually the hot section with a gazillion Japan-based Kenyans in that one including Richard Kimunyan Yator (27:01 last week)
- Queen's Ekiden AKA All Japan Women's Corporate Ekiden (Sendai, JPN) - THE big women's Ekiden of the season; 22 teams competing; The entry list is completely loaded including Hitomi Niiya, Ririka Hironaka, Honami Maeda, Mao Ichiyama, Mizuki Matsuda, Sayaka Sato, Kaede Hagitani, Kayoko Fukushi, Yuka Ando, Rei Ohara, Rina Nabeshima and possibly Ayuko Suzuki. Nozomi Tanaka is really the only one of Japan's top women missing
- Kanto Region University Championships Part 3 - Distance Events (Kanagawa, JPN) - Six races: 10,000m Race Walk, 5000m & 10,0000m for Men & Women; Decent fields without being top quality and they look like good competitive races
- Alcobendas 10k (Alcobendas, ESP) - Not terribly deep fields but Fernando Carro is attempting to break Toni Abadia's 27:48 Spanish Record; It might help that the course is 89m net downhill
- 10000m Record Challenge (Kanagawa, JPN) - 9 Men's 10,000m races and 1 Women's 10,000; Race 9 is the hot section here targeting 28-flat, although Race 10 is pretty decent too; The women's race looks competitive but naturally suffers from all the very best women running the Queen's Ekiden
- East Japan Men's Corporate Ekiden (Kumagaya, JPN) - This actually took place 3 weeks ago but is only now being broadcast on TV; Perhaps the best quality of all the qualifying Ekidens for the New Year Ekiden (AKA the All Japan Men's Corporate Championship)
- Up Dawg Ten Miler (Washington DC, USA) - A field of 5 women including Kiera D'Amato, Molly Seidel & Bethany Sachtleben; D'Amato is attempting to break the US 10 Mile road Record (52:12, Janet Bawcom); However, it has to be said that compared to the US 15k & Half Marathon records it is quite soft

Live streaming events remaining for 2020:
Below is a non-exhaustive list (but the majority) of the track meetings & road races we can expect on the live streams for the remainder of the year, extending into the first couple of days of January. Note that streaming/broadcast hasn't yet been confirmed for most of these events but is highly likely except where noted.
A lot of the highlights take place from 4th December to the 6th including the Valencia Marathon & Half Marathon, the Track Meet in Los Angeles, and the Japanese Championships for 10,000, 5000 & Steeple.
Obviously, there's the possibility that events below could yet be postponed or cancelled.
Sadly, the various international Cross Country meetings usually held in Spain in December have been cancelled for 2020.- Sun 29 Nov Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (New Delhi, IND) - cracking fields for this!

- Sun 6 Dec Fukuoka Marathon (JPN) - WA Gold Label; strong field despite being limited to Japan-based athletes
- Sun 6 Dec Valencia Marathon Elite Edition & Valencia Half Marathon Elite Edition (Valencia, ESP) - "Elite" doesn't do justice to the entry lists for these - they're totally loaded!
- Sun 6 Dec Grande Prêmio Brasil Caixa de Atletismo (Bragança Paulista, BRA) - WA Continental Tour Silver
- Tue 8 - Sun 13 Dec Various Grand Prix Sudamericano meetings - not sure yet if any will be streamed or whether fields will be international or domestic-only
- Fri 18 - Sat 19 Dec Meeting de la Réunion (La Réunion, FRA) - World Athletics Challenge Combined Events; - new event so don't know the likelihood of streaming
- Sun 20 Dec The Marathon Project (Chandler, AZ, USA) - good entry lists for this
- Sun 20 Dec Taipei Marathon (Taipei City, TPE) - WA Bronze Label; Not sure yet if there will be international fields for this

Sunday- Delhi Half Marathon (New Delhi, IND) - WA Gold Label; There are separate M & W races and the women's race is of bonkers quality. Entered are 2 WR-holders - Brigid Kosgei & Ababel Yeshaneh - and, I think, 3 World Champions - Ruth Chepngetich, Netsanet Gudeta (some confusion introduced by the Preview & Entry list) and Irene Cheptai. Also there's Yalemzerf Yehualew (3rd in the Gydnia World Half) and double defending champion & Doha 5000m fifth-placer, Tsehay Gemechu. What a field! In the men's race the more familiar athletes include Aron Kifle, Leonard Barsoton, Stephen Kissa and Muktar Edris making his debut at the distance
Next post on Wed 2nd or Thu 3rd Dec - dependent on streaming for Vic Milers Club (it usually is) - for a cracking long weekend of action.Comment

The fields for tomorrow's Victorian Milers Club meeting aren't great - Australia's best are obviously delaying their debuts for their summer season.

Live streams/broadcasts for Friday 4th December to Sunday 6th December:
It's set to be a cracking weekend of track & road action taking in 4 continents! As a result, some of my notes/mini-previews below are a bit more extensive than usual.
The window for Olympic qualifying times re-opened on 1st December so there should be a lot of races going out hard.
There's also a slim possibility of streaming for the Queensland 5000m State Championships, the Scottish Elite Short Course XC and the Cross Internacional in Granollers, Spain. I'll notify you if any of them are added to the roster.
Friday to Saturday- Track Meet (Los Angeles, USA) - Yes, it's just called "Track Meet"; 5000s on Friday evening & 10000s on Saturday evening; Strong pan-American fields for these (as well as other US-based athletes) and even the 'B' races look pretty good; On any other weekend this Autumn/Winter I would have provided more notes but there's a lot to cover below ...
- Japanese Championships & Olympic Trials for Distance Events (Osaka, JPN) - 5000, 10,000 & 3000 Steeple; With Olympic places on the line for the winners and the Olympic standards window open again, the fields in the 5 & 10 are stacked. The women's 5000 should be good, a battle between the 3 youngsters - Ririka Hironaka (14:59 PB), Nozomi Tanaka (15:00) & Kaede Hagitani (15:05). Under normal circumstances Tanaka would have too much for Hironaka on the last lap but Tanaka was a bit off-form at the Denka Cup a few weeks ago so who knows. Two weeks ago Hironaka crushed Hagitani on the first leg of the Queen's Ekiden. In the women's 10,000 all but one of the 23 athletes have run sub-32:30, 7 of them sub-32 with Hitomi Niiya the big favourite for victory. Might she take down Kayako Fukishi's NR of 30:51.81? At the Queen's Ekiden Niiya ran 30:31 for 10k en-route on the 10.9km leg, essentially a solo effort. Others could also get the Olympic standard - e.g., Mao Ichiyama, she ran 31:23 at one of the Hokuren Distance Challenge meetings this summer (though she's on the marathon team for the Olympics)
- World Athletics Awards (virtual)
- Fukuoka Marathon (JPN) - WA Gold Label; Men-only; Strong field of Japanese and a couple of other Japan-based athletes; Surprise, surprise, Yuki Kawauchi is running as is honorary Geordie, Ser-od Bat-Ochir (Mongolia & former Morpeth Harrier)
- Valencia Marathon & Valencia Half Marathon (ESP) - WA Platinum Label; All 4 fields are ridiculously loaded!! Given Valencia's recent road race history the WRs for the half marathons might get a scare. In the men's half Rhonex Kipruto makes his half debut against the Gdynia 1-2, Jacob Kiplimo & Kibiwott Kandie. In a small field for the women's half both Letesenbet Gidey & Genzebe Dibaba debut and this also includes Senbere Teferi, Sheila Chepkirui (29:46 10k) & Emily Sisson going for the American Record (Huddle's 67:25). UPDATE : Gidey cannot make it over because of the conflict in Ethiopia. In the women's marathon there's the likes of Ruti Aga, 2x Tokyo winner Birhane Dibaba & Jordan Hasay and not even making the top 10 on PBs are 5 of the 13 fastest women ever at the half marathon - Joyciline Jepkosgei, Peres Jepchirchir, Fancy Chemutai (debut), Joan Chelimo Melly & Melat Kejeta - all relatively inexperienced at the longer distance although Jepkosgei has won New York. The European field is also pretty strong. The men's marathon includes 23 sub-2:07 athletes such as Lelisa Desisa, Lawrence Cherono, Birhanu Legese, Lemi Berhanu Hayle, Leul Gebreselasie, Jemal Yimer (debut) & Abel Kirui
- Grande Prêmio Brasil Caixa de Atletismo (São Paulo, BRA) - WA Continental Tour Silver meeting rescheduled from May; Some of the fields here are decent including, but not limited to, the 100m for both genders and both the Steeples. Athletes from 19 countries competing including Kenya & the UK (Amelia Strickler & Kirsty Law)

Race video links have been added to the document for the 5000s in LA last night. So far Google Drive has only processed one of the videos for in-browser viewing but the other 3 should be done soon.

Thursday to Sunday- Troféu Brasil Caixa de Atletismo (São Paulo, BRA) - This track & field meeting has become Brazil's de facto national championships, often used to pick the national team for global championships; A full programme of events that includes 20km & 50km race walks on the road & Combined Events
- Launceston Ten & Half Marathon (Launceston, Tasmania, AUS) - Good domestic fields in the 10km and HM and Andrea Seccafien (CAN) is also in the HM - she's now living in Oz; No streaming confirmed for this yet but the event is owned by an event management company who streamed the Hobart 10k back in February
- Grand Prix del Paraguay (Asunción, PAR) - GP Sudamericano series; No entry lists or preview for this though I have read that some of the fields will be international
- Italian Marathon Championships (Reggio Emilia, ITA) - 45 mins highlights of this which is actually taking place on Sunday morning; The women's field is more interesting than the men's with Giovanna Epis, Catherine Bertone, Anna Incerti & Sweden's Charlotta Fougberg running as a guest; The Italian-based Burundians Olivier Irabaruta and Onesphore Nzikwinkunda look like the best bets to win in the men's race
