Yes, they're 35km races now (and quality 20km races too). I don't get the feeling that they'll ever rename the meeting though. -
Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 25th March to Monday 27th March:
Apologies but I don't have the energy for teaser notes tonight, except to say that the Dudinská 50 Race Walking meeting is loaded.
Saturday to Sunday- ? Grand Prix Sudamericano Estrella Puente & Grand Prix Sudamericano Darwin Piñeyrúa (San Carlos, URU) - both WA Continental Tour Challenger meetings
- Nippon Sports Science University Long Distance Meeting AKA Nittai University Time Trials (Yokohama, JPN)

That's great, thank you! Very excited for this weekend's action around the globe -
Live streaming of Sunday's Lille Half Marathon, 10km & 5km has been added to the latest document above. There's a load of very good athletes involved over the 6 races (M & W) but the highlight has to be the Men's 5km with a rumoured attempt on Berihu Aregawi's 12:49 WR by a field that includes Kejelcha, Krop, Telahun Bekele & Rogers Kibet (UGA). Sam Atkin also goes in that race.Leave a comment:

Thank you so much for your great work as always!
I guess looks like no streaming for Lille 5k, 10k, HM? Shame if there isn't because it looks like a great event: https://twitter.com/albertostretti/s...12756970323968
Thanks again -
Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 18th March to Monday 20th March:
There is some top-class racing in Lille on Sunday including a possible Men's 5km World Record (Kejelcha, Krop & Telahun Bekele in that). However, this event (Half Marathon & 10km also) has never been live streamed to my knowledge, so I don't hold out much hope for a stream this weekend.
Never mind, there's a lot of good other stuff on tap this weekend ...
Saturday- English Schools' Cross Country Championships (Nottingham, GBR) - The lack of info on this is shocking!
- John Wolmer Speed Fest (Kingston, JAM) - There's a number of good athletes competing here, e.g., Forbes, Sada Williams, Kemba Nelson & N Morrison in the W 200 Final C (the race lettering seems to go opposite to the conventional way). Zharnel Hughes faces Ackeem Blake & Rusheen McDonald in the M 200 Final E. Elaine Thompson-Herah also goes in the 400
- New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon (New Taipei City, TPE) - WA Gold Label race; Since COVID the elite fields here have been small but good and this year include some familiar athletes such as Shumi Dechasa and Bekelech Gudeta. Heading the lists on PBs are Barnabas Kiptum (2:04:17) and Gebeyanesh Ayele (2:21:22)
- Asian Race Walking Championships & All Japan Race Noburu Race Walking Nomi Tournament incl Japanese University 20km Race Walking Championships (Nomi, JPN) - Great to see the annual Asian RW Championships back for the first time since 2019 - they're always held at this venue. This is the deepest Race Walking meeting of 2023 so far, at least until next weekend's Gold meeting in Dudince. The combination of the fields for the Asian Champs, All Japan race & University Champs makes for strong line-ups (there's only 20km races for Seniors, no 35km) with 11 nations represented. India have sent a strong team that includes most of their best. Australia also have a strong entry in the All Japan open category including Jemima Montag and in the Men's race Cowley, Tingay and Swan. China's team is kind of C or D level for them but they should still be competitive. 2021 Olympic silver medalist Sandra Arenas (COL) is also due to toe the startline
- Seoul Marathon (Seoul, KOR) - WA Platinum Label race; There's very little info on who's competing here but it's usually a strong race. The course records set last year are 2:04:43 and 2:18:04
- Niigata Half Marathon (Niigata, JPN) - There's decent fields for this. However, I'm not sure how good the streaming coverage will be
- Spring Ina High School Ekiden - Boys' race (Ina, JPN) - As the Ekiden season winds down, this is a big event for the High Schoolers and usually contested by many of the top schools from December's national championship. The leg records linked in the document will give you an idea of the high quality of this event. There is also a Girls race but that isn't broadcast on TV
- Barcelona Marathon (Barcelona, ESP) - WA Gold Label race; The Men's field here is good with six sub-2:06 and a further five sub-2:07 athletes, led by Kaan Kigen Ozbilen (2:04:16 PB). The Women's field is thinner on the ground with 3 athletes at 2:21 or faster, headed by Zeineba Yimer (2:19:28 PB)
- Run Rome The Marathon (Rome, ITA) - WA Elite Label race; The fields aren't particularly deep here. Fikre Bekele starts as the favourite to defend his title (2:06:16 PB) against just two other sub-2:10 men. The Women's race looks competitive though with six sub-2:30 women separated on PBs by just over 2 minutes
- Vittoria Half Marathon (Vittorio Veneto, ITA) - This looks like a competitive international Men's field with several athletes in the 65 to 67 minute range although I think Marouan Razine & Abdoullah Bamoussa are both better than their HM PBs so far
- Spanish U16 & U18 Individual & Autonomous Federations Cross Country Championships (Pamplona, ESP) - Always a good event and the U18 Women's race in particular is strong with the likes of defending champ Xela Martinez & Maria Viciosa who looks like she could turn out to be the best of the emerging Viciosa sisters
- Pan American Marathon Championships & Caracas Marathon (Caracas, VEN) - Other than the two Brazilians competing, I have no idea who else is due to race!
- NYC Half Marathon (New York, USA) - Cheptegei vs Jacob Kiplimo & Kennedy Kimutai (58:28 PB) ... Obiri vs Teferi vs Cheptai along with Jess Warner-Judd & Grovdal. What's not to like?!
- Los Angeles Marathon (Los Angeles, CA, USA) - Yemane Tsegay (2:04:48 PB) and Tsehay Alemu (2:27:17 PB) head the fields here. I don't know who else is competing but in recent years the depth here has been slim
- Stramilano (Milan, ITA) - International Half Marathon; The line-ups for this famous old race are decent including several sub-61 and sub-71 athletes as well as Cosmas Mwangi (27:15 10,000m PB) making his HM debut. There's a number of good Italians competing too such as Epis, Lonedo & Arnaudo in the Women's race
- Indian Grand Prix - Meet 1 (Trivandrum, IND) - The line-ups at these GP meetings are always domestically pretty good and amongst the entrants here is Hima Das in the W 200; There may be a Preview article appearing over the weekend that I'll link to - that will do a better job than me of identifying athletes to watch!
Next major post possibly on Wednesday evening but more likely next Friday evening.👍 1Leave a comment:

Tonight's post for the weekend's streams will be made hopefully before midnight UK time. There's no rush though because, currently, the first streaming action doesn't start until 6pm on Saturday.👍 1Leave a comment:

Live streams/broadcasts for Thursday 16th March:
Thursday- Sir Graeme Douglas International (Auckland, NZL) - WA Contintental Tour Bronze meeting; The Men's & Women's 1500s look like the most interesting events here, including a load of Japanese and other international representation. In the Women's Nozomi Tanaka and 4:07.9 compatriot Ran Urabe should be to the fore along with Rebecca Mehra (USA) & Rebekah Greene (NZL). McCartney, McTaggart & Ayris go again in the W Pole Vault. Other athletes competing include Tom Walsh & Zoe Hobbs (100)
- Victorian Milers Club Meet 5 (Doncaster, VIC, AUS) - 800m & 1500m; Again the 1500s are the best events here with Caldwell, Hollingsworth, Maudie Skyring, Amy Bunnage & Hancock-Cameron in the Women's 'A' race and Buckingham, Matthew Hussey & William Lewis in the Men's
Next major post possibly tomorrow (Thursday) evening but more likely on Friday evening for the weekend's streams including the John Wolmer Speedfest meeting in Jamaica, the loaded NYC Half Marathon, marathons in Seoul, Barcelona, New Taipei City & Los Angeles, the Asian Race Walking Championships and possibly the Carolina Spring Break Classic meeting in Puerto Rico.Leave a comment:

Linked now in the latest document 2 posts above are YouTube recordings of the TV broadcasts for the Sydney Track Classic and (with ad breaks removed) the Nagoya Women's Marathon.
The senior long races at the Italian Cross Country Championships were indeed included in the YouTube streams after the TV broadcast had finished. In the document I've indicated at what point they start in the streams.Last edited by LuckySpikes; 13-03-23, 00:28.Leave a comment:
