• San Sebastián Marathon & Half Marathon (San Sebastián, ESP)
• Marathon de La Rochelle Serge Vigot (La Rochelle, FRA) - No idea who's competing here but it's usually a quality race with course records of 2:07:13 and 2:23:38
• Cross Internacional de la Constitución Alcobendas - Memorial Antonio Rodriguez Benavente (Alcobendas, ESP) - World Cross Country Tour Gold meeting; Nadia Battocletti is amongst those in action here. This is a really nice and challenging course - quite twisty-turny and a fair amount of elevation changes. However, for the last 2 years the live stream hasn't covered the steep downhill followed by the steep uphill - you can see those sections briefly at the 12 seconds & 19 seconds points of the Course Preview video linked in the document. Otherwise, the streaming coverage is quite good
• International Warandecross (Tilburg, NED) - World Cross Country Tour Silver meeting; The first time this is being live streamed

Monday

• Firenze Marathon (Florence, ITA)

Just a heads up ... The Liverpool round of the British Cross Challenge, which includes the Trials for the European XC Championships, is live on YouTube on Saturday.

Also, I've seen the squad lists for the Queen's Ekiden and it is indeed likely to be (absolutely!) loaded. Just some of the big names entered are Ririka Hironaka, Nozomi Tanaka, Hitomi Shintani (nee Niiya), Mao Ichiyama, Pauline Kamulu, Ai Hosoda, Sayaka Sato, Kaede Hagitani, Rina Goto & Yuka Ando.

• The Manchester Road Race (Manchester, CT, USA) - WA Label race; 4.748 miles; There's some good names competing here including Butchart, Mantz, Patrick Dever, Weini Kelati & Cynthia Limo

Added to the document, starting late Saturday night UK time is the Nagano Prefecture Ekiden, a mixed ekiden.

Unfortunately, there was no live stream of Corrida Bulloise today. Sometimes these things happen - if no live stream has been confirmed by the time I post the document I usually go on what has happened in the past (i.e., the last few editions of Corrida Bulloise have been live streamed.) I will continue to look for on-demand recordings of the races though.

It seems also that there may be no live stream for Sunday's La Mandria Cross in Italy which is a disappointment. I will confirm if that's the case tomorrow.

Live streams/broadcasts for Friday 19th November to Saturday 20th November:

There's action galore from Japan this weekend as well as some other top events on the road and country! Two of the 3 Ekidens fall into the "municipal Ekiden" category - an ekiden for the Prefecture (Japan has 47) with teams from the municipalities (cities, towns & villages) competing. I think most prefectures have such ekidens and a few are live streamed/broadcast. Even though they're "local" events, such is the strength of distance running in Japan, they often have a lot of good athletes involved. In these "smaller" ekidens I usually don't know any of the athletes but I find that doesn't hamper my enjoyment of these races.

There's also the possibility of on-demand videos for good track action at the Chugoku Corporate Long Distance Record Meeting in Japan.

Friday into Saturday

• Kansai Inter-University Men's Ekiden AKA Tango University Ekiden (Kyōtango to Miyazu, JPN) - In my research for this thread over the last couple of years I've learned a lot about the Japanese road running scene but there's still a bit that baffles me! One thing is why the Kansai universities (Osaka and surrounds) don't compete in the big Hakone Ekiden in January. Instead, this is their big season-ending Ekiden and it's a very good quality one

• New Zealand 10,000m Championships (Wellington, NZL) - There's decent fields here including Julian Oakley, Eric Speakman & Hannah Miller and apparently the aim is to get as many athletes as possible under the NZ federation's 29:45 & 34:30 standards needed to compete in the World Cross Country Championships
• ? Corrida Bulloise (Bulle, SUI) - International Men's 8.13km & Women's 6.19km road races; This is the first of 3 in a series of short-ish races through old towns in Switzerland (the other two on the first 2 weekends of December). Both fields are good with Dominic Lobalu (12:52 5000 PB) headlining the Men's that also includes 2019 winner Isaac Kimeli, Boniface Kibiwott, Jonas Raess and a number of other East Africans. The Women's race includes Helen Bekele Tola (twice a winner here), Gladys Jemaiyo (68:18 half PB), Kasanesh Ayenew Baze (ETH) who's had good results on the road this year, and Lore Hoffmann going significantly over-distance. The course records are Julien Wanders 22:27 (2018) & Caroline Chepkwony 19:05 (2006)
• NCAA D1 Cross Country Championships (Stillwater, OK, USA) - No teaser needed here. LetsRun has some very good previews linked in the document
• NCAA D3 Cross Country Championships (Lansing, MI, USA) - Sorry, I don't know much about the D3 scene at the moment! Easy to watch though, without geo-blocking

Saturday into Sunday

• Fukushima Ekiden (Shirakawa to Fukushima, JPN) - There's a large field of 53 teams for this long mixed ekiden, 52 of them representing individual municipalities with one joint team representing the remainder of Fukushima's 59 municipalities. It's a decent race with some good and very good amateur, university and high school athletes competing. The winning time for the 95km last year was 4:57:31 and 24 teams clocked faster than 5:32:30 which equates to 3:30 per km

Sunday

• Ageo City Half Marathon (Ageo, JPN) - This is the deepest half marathon in the world, often with over 150 men clocking sub-66 ! The majority of the competitors are seeking to impress their university coach and grab a place in the squad for the big Hakone Ekiden in January
• Kobe Marathon (Kobe, JPN) - There's small but good international fields here. In the Women's race, Japan's best amateur marathoner Haruka Yamaguchi (2:26:35 PB) is running at least her 7th marathon of the year and faces Immaculate Chemutai (UGA; 2:28 PB) and Sharon Kemboi, a 67:28 HM athlete making her debut at this distance; In the Men's race Junichi Tsubouchi (2:08:35 PB) faces 3 good Kenyans including Elkanah Langat & Clement Langat (both 2:07/08 types)
• Yamagata Prefecture Women's Ekiden AKA Yamagata Cup (Kaminoyama to Yamagata, JPN) - Whilst there's only 11 teams here it's a pretty good quality race; There's not many pro athletes compete (although Yuka Ando is listed in the Yonezawa squad this year) but there's some good amateurs, university athletes and some very good high school athletes; The short 3rd & 4th legs seem to be for 13 to 15 year-olds with the other legs open to 16 and over
• Kanto Region University Time Trials / 10000m Record Challenge (Tokyo, JPN) - Good fields here with a ton of sub-28:30 men in the 2 fast sections
• Cross International de Itálica (Santiponce nr Sevilla, ESP) - World Cross Country Tour Gold meeting; There's loaded fields here with the Men's race taking centre stage. In that Jacob Kiplimo & Stanley Waithaka (silver in the Eugene WCh 10,000) both make their season debuts on the country and face the first 4 from last weekend's race in Atapuerca, two of whom (Ndikuwemenayo & Kwizera) already have 3 XC races under their belt this season; Peruth Chemutai was a no-show in Atapuerca due to illness but she's due to race here against Purity Chepkirui (winner in San Sebastián and a strong 2nd behind Beatrice Chebet last weekend), Yasemin Can, some other very good East Africans & Mariana Machado. Like last weekend in Atapuerca the Spanish contingent in both races is strong - the best Spaniards from the 1500 up to the marathon just love to get out and race cross country! This meeting is unusual in that the Women are running the same distance as the Men (10.1km) - I think it's the first time that's happened here
• La Mandria Cross (Venaria Reale nr Turin, ITA) - This is a test event at the venue for this year's European Cross Country Championships and also a selection event for the Italian team for those championships (not strictly "trials" but "indicative races" instead). Including the "Cross Corto" (2km mixed race with a view to picking the mixed relay team) these fields are loaded - pretty much all the best Italians are here with the exception of Yeman Crippa & Nadia Battocletti
• Zevenheuvelenloop AKA Seven Hills Run (Nijmegen, NED) - International 15km road race; Although the Men's race will get most of the screen time, the Women's race looks the more interesting with Eilish McColgan, Beatrice Chepkoech, Stella Chesang, Eva Cherono, 3 good young Japanese women & Hanna Klein making an interesting step up in distance; The Men's race isn't bad by any means, including Nibret Melak, Rogers Kibet (UGA), Abraham Cheroben, Ringer, Foppen & Belhadj

• Nippon Sports Science University Long Distance Meeting AKA Nittai University Time Trials (Yokohama, JPN) - Men's 5000 & 10,000 and Women's 3000 & 5000; As there often is, there's good fields here featuring some very good Japanese athletes and a lot of the top Kenyans based in Japan

• The Fst in Fukuoka (Fukuoka, JPN) - International 5km & Mile road races; In the Women's Mile Georgia Griffith goes against Nozomi Tanaka and Stewy McSweyn & Craig Engels head the Men's field; The 5km races feature good Kenyans against Nozomi Tanaka (again) and Hyuga Endo who's aiming to bring the Men's Japanese road 5km Record down from 13:59 to something respectable
• Cross Pforzheim (Pforzheim, GER) - The senior fields aren't very deep (especially after the withdrawal of Elena Burkhard) but the U20 races are the Trials for both Germany & Swizerland for the European XC Championships
• Spanish Mixed Relay Cross Country Championships (Atapuerca, ESP) - 48 teams are due to toe the start line but Playas de Castellon are heavy favourites to retain their title (they'll be in the green tops wearing bib 1)
• U Sports (Canadian University) Cross Country Championships (Halifax, NS, CAN) - I can't speak with any authority on Canadian Uni running at the moment but the linked Preview article covers the team & individual races adequately

Saturday into Sunday

• Chubu & Horuriku Regions Corporate Men's Ekiden Championship (Aichi, JPN) - This is a qualifying race for the big New Year Ekiden (the All Japan Corporate Men's Ekiden Championship) and there's some good athletes competing here

Sunday

• Kansai Region Corporate Men's Ekiden AKA Ryujin Ekiden (Ryujinmura, JPN) - This is a strong region and again this is a qualifier for the New Year Ekiden with the Top 5 here booking their spot; The course for the race is picturesque with the road cutting through the hills/mountains. Last year's race was a good one - after 3 hours 10 mins of racing (16km to go) the Top 5 teams were separated by just 72 seconds and then in the last 200m there was an incredibly dramatic finish for 5th place and the final qualifying spot
• East Japan Women's Ekiden (Fukushima, JPN) - Teams of pro athletes, good amateurs and high school athletes compete here representing 18 of Japan's 47 prefectures and it's always a quality race
• Chugoku Region Corporate Men's Ekiden Championship (Sera, JPN) - Also a qualifier for the New Year Ekiden with the Top 4 teams qualifying. Again there's some very good athletes competing here
• Athens Marathon, The Authentic incl Greek Marathon Championships (Athens, GRE) - Abel Anton & Martin Fiz (1-2 in the 1997 Athens World Champs marathon) wear bibs 1 & 2 here but I'd hazard a guess and say they won't be in the shake-up for podium places this time! I'm not sure of any elite international entries but the Greek championship races look competitive
• Málaga Half Marathon (Málaga, ESP) - There's a decent field here with four sub-62 athletes headed by Josphat Chumo (60:11 PB). Cynthia Nolari (68:04 PB) leads the women's line-up
• Cross Valmusone (Osimo, ITA) - There's a couple of nice senior races here. The Women's field is small but good, including Aprile, Verity Ockenden (now based in Italy), the Zanne twins and the return from injury of Veronica Inglese. Remember her? She finished 6th in the 2016 European Championships 10,000 (31:37) and then a few days later took silver in the Half Marathon; The 3km senior short race also has a small but good cast with Barontini, Bouih, Bussotti Neves & Elisa Bortoli; The coverage on the stream last year wasn't the greatest quality - there was a bit of waiting sometimes for them to emerge from 'blind spots' on the course - but it's still possible to follow the races fairly well
• Ravenna City of Art Marathon & 21k Ravenna Park Race incl Italian Marathon Championships (Ravenna, ITA) - The entry lists for the Italian Championships aren't stellar, however a decent crop of East Africans should be at the head of the fields
• Cross Internacional de Atapuerca incl Spanish Clubs Cross Country Championships (Atapuerca, ESP) - World Cross Country Tour Gold meeting; As usual, this is loaded - a true Gold meeting (more on that in a bit) - especially on the Women's side, with the field led by major medalists such as Beatrice Chebet, Peruth Chemutai & Yasemin Can and also featuring track talents such as Nadia Battocletti, Purity Chepkirui, Zerfe Wondemagn & Selamawit Teferi. Also competing is Lucy Mawia Muli, the winner in Bydgoszcz & Soria recently. Aimee Pratt will be hoping for a better performance than Amorebieta 3 weeks ago when she trailed off badly for 12th place (though she'd do very, very well to finish higher in this stacked field). In both the Men's & Women's races it's like a Who's Who of Spanish distance running and there's also a number of other Brits competing including Jenny Nesbitt, Megan Keith & Ben Connor. Here the separate U23 races are the Spanish trials for the European XC Championships - I believe the first 5 book their spots with one discretionary spot left open; ... Okay, as "promised" ... IMO, there should be only 5 Gold XC meetings (instead of 17 at present), namely the five that year-on-year deliver stacked fields - that's Atapuerca, Italica (next weekend), Campaccio, Juan Muguerza & Cinque Mulini. Possibly, in its forthcoming 2nd edition the Eldoret meeting might prove itself worthy of joining them. The other current Gold meetings should be reclassified as Silver & Bronze meetings. Currently, it's too easy (in theory) for athletes to cherry-pick the easier Gold meetings and this is even more important now that finishing in the Top 8 of the overall standings qualifies that athlete for the 10,000m at the World Championships. I don't know how much WA monitor these meetings to see if they're fulfilling requirements regarding the quality of fields ... I suspect not at all! I feel an email to WA coming on ...
• Behobia – San Sebastián (Behobia to San Sebastián, ESP) - 20km road race; Not stellar fields here (there's a few good athletes) but it's a fun course that is 192m net uphill and very up and down with long drags up to the two high points around 7km and 17km

• Indian National Junior Championships (Guwahati, IND) - The Indian Athletics streams always have English commentary and the coverage isn't bad at all. There's no on-screen clock but they do show results

Friday

• NCAA D1 South Regional Cross Country Championships (Huntsville, AL, USA) - There's 2 Top 30 nationally-ranked teams in both races - # 7 Alabama & Florida State in the Women's and # 16 Tennessee & Alabama in the Men's. Other traditionally good teams here include Georgia & Ole Miss
• NCAA D1 Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships (Columbia, MO, USA) - Oklahoma State head the rankings in both races, nationally ranked # 3 in the Women's and # 4 in the Men's. Also in the Men's race are Top 30 teams Tulsa (# 6) & Iowa State and in the Women's race Northwestern Uni crept into the Top 30 nationally-ranked teams. There's also a number of traditionally strong teams in this region such as Minnesota, Missouri & Nebraska
• ? NCAA D1 Mountain Regional Cross Country Championships (Albuquerque, NM, USA) - This is one of the 2 strongest regions and includes highly nationally-ranked teams such as BYU, Colorado, NAU (Northern Arizona), New Mexico, Utah & Air Force

Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 5th November to Sunday 6th November:

This weekend includes a very nice Spanish double-header on the World Cross Country Tour, both streamed on LaLigaSportsTV. If you don't have a free account for that service yet, what are you waiting for? It's dead easy to sign up (link in the document below) or you can simply login with a Facebook, Google or Apple login. If you have a smart Samsung TV there's also a LaLigaSportsTV app for it (regarding that, PM me because "getting connected" to the app has a couple of quirks). As well as loads of cross country, LaLigaSportsTV shows a load of track (much of it age-group championships but also some senior Spanish championships), Spanish race walking championships and this year they've also shown a couple of international half marathons. They stream a load of other sports too, including petanque!

I'm vaguely hopeful of live streams for 3 or 4 other events this weekend. If they transpire, I will post an alert on the thread.

Just a reminder ... Some of you may have realised this already but I'm often updating the document over the course of the days it covers. So, for example, if I'm watching an event live and the link I've provided is incorrect, I'll go into the document and correct it straight away. Sometimes changes happen just a few minutes before or after the stream is due to have started. So, if you're frustrated because something "isn't working" it's worth refreshing the document page to see if any changes have been made recently.

• All Japan University Men's Ekiden Championship AKA Chichibunomiya Cup (Nagoya to Mie, JPN) - As always this is loaded with talent, such as Ryuji Miura, Ren Tazawa (27:23 10,000 PB) and a number of good Kenyans; Unfortunately at 106.8km total length, it's one of those men's Ekidens that requires as much stamina from the viewer as from the athletes!

Saturday

• Kumamoto Prefecture High School Girls' Ekiden (Kumamoto, JPN) - National High School Ekiden preliminary round; I know nothing about this Ekiden except that, at 21.1km total length, it'll be a much easier watch than the above!
• English Cross Country Relays (Mansfield, GBR) - I'm really looking forward to this as it's the first time it's being streamed. Usually there's a lot of good athletes competing
• USATF 5km Road Championships (New York, USA) - Good fields here that include Infeld, Kelati, Lipari & Rogers in the Women's and H Bor, Engels, Chelanga & Ferlic in the Men's
• JTBC Seoul Marathon (Seoul, KOR) - From the preview article there's 19 invited foreign athletes competing, headed in the Men's race by Elisha Rotich (2:04:21 in Paris last year) and at least two other 2:05/06 athletes

Sunday

• Istanbul Marathon (Istanbul, TUR) - WA Elite Label race; There's good line-ups here that include seven sub-2:08 men and five sub-2:27 women
• Cross Internacional de Soria (Valonsadero nr Soria, ESP) - World Cross Country Tour Gold meeting; The Men's field is pretty strong, with Thierry Ndikumwenayo (7:26 3000m PB) heading a number of good Africans, Italians Aouani (2nd in Amorebieta 2 weeks ago) & Arese and Santiago Catrofe (URU). The domestic line-up is good too with the likes of Hassaous, Arce & Martos. In the Women's race Lucy Mawia Muli returns (Soria winner last year and Bydgoszcz victor 2 weeks ago) and faces a field that includes a strong Spanish contingent (Marta Perez, Ruiz, Marta Garcia, Laura Luengo, Campo etc) as well as Portugal's Lia Lemos (8th in Amorebieta) and GB's Almaz Nerurkar
• Cross Internacional de San Sebastián AKA Cross Lasarte (San Sebastián, ESP) - World Cross Country Tour Silver meeting; Starting with the Women's race at this historic meeting, there's 3 very good young East Africans including Zerfe Wondemagn (Tokyo OG Steeple finalist & 2nd here last year) as well as more of Spain's best women in the shape of Robles, Sanchez-Escribano & Isabel Barreiro (winner in Amorebieta 2 weeks ago) and some other interesting international entrants in Catarina Ribeiro (POR) & Giovanna Selva (ITA). In the Men's race Mechaal & Oukhelfen are up against two 2022 World U20 champions - Addisu Yihune (5000m champ; 12:58 PB) and Reynold Kipkorir Cheruiyot (1500m champ). There's a decent cast of other Spaniards and Portuguese racing too; Being in the Basque Country there's a decent chance that it will be soggy underfoot
• New York City Marathon (New York, USA) - WA Elite Platinum Label race; The big story here is the marathon debut of Hellen Obiri. • Kyushu Region Corporate Men's Ekiden (Fukuoka, JPN) - Another qualifying race for The New Year Ekiden corporate men's national championship, this time the top 8 teams qualify; There's a lot of very good athletes competing including Hiroto Inoue, Davis Kiplangat, Kenta Murayama & Benard Koech

• World Mountain and Trail Running Championships (Chiang Mai, THA) - The inaugural edition of these combined championships; Obviously many of the best are here. Whilst I know some of the names in Mountain Running my knowledge is limited but fortunately there are good preview articles linked in the document; With it being mountain running I have no idea how good the coverage will be
