Yes, at the minimum I will provide links to SRF Zwei (Switzerland) and CT Sport (Czech Republic). Both are in beautiful HD but SRF Zwei needs you to use a VPN or the Hola extension for your browser, and CT Sport might do as well. In the States it's only on the Olympic Channel.

However, there has been what could be a positive development ... the Monaco organisers are working to try to provide Britain with live TV coverage of the meeting. If that isn't possible, we may get access to the previously geo-blocked world feed on YouTube.

The BBC are continuing to show highlights - midday on Saturday for the Monaco DL.

Come on Freesports, step in please!

    • Two reasons to celebrate! 😀
      1. BBC confirm live streaming of Monaco! 😀
      2. I scoop LS! 😎

Adam Gemili will take on world 200m champion Noah Lyles at Friday's Diamond League meeting in Monaco, streamed live on the BBC.

        1. Good news!
        2. Yep!

    • I notice that Monaco DL has now popped up on the BBC Red Button at 19:00, so it will be recordable if you have all the gubbins. I’m sure it will also appear on IPlayer, but that usually takes an hour or two after transmission.

      • Live streams/broadcasts for Friday 14th August to Monday 17th August:

It's a bumper weekend of action so I'm once again in the position of being able to reject some live streamed meetings on "quality-of-fields" grounds. Not making the cut this weekend are the Danish Championships, Norwegian U20 Championships and two meetings in Spain & Nijmegen.

        Friday to Saturday
        • Baltic Team Championships aka President's Cup (Ogre, LAT) - LAT vs EST vs LTU; Usually an enjoyable little championships
        Friday to Sunday
        • Swedish Championships (Uppsala, SWE) - Includes the return of Meraf Bahta, after her whereabouts ban, in the 5000 & 10,000 although the 10,000 isn't being broadcast. EDIT : The 10,000m races ARE now being live streamed (see separate entry created in the document)
        • Finnish Championships (Turku, FIN) - This starts on Thursday but the first day isn't being broadcast
        Friday
        • Herculis - Monaco Diamond League - now live on the BBC Red Button!
        Saturday
        • Jump'n'Run (Dortmund, GER) - Dortmund seems to specialise in these super-long outdoor meetings! There's some good distance races on the card, e.g., nice, very international (European) Men's 1500 & 5000 'A' races including a few Brits; A few Brits in other events too including Kristal Awuah (100) & Oliver Dustin (800)
        • Meeting de la Tchaux (La Chaux-de-Fonds, SUI) - Not the usual Resisprint meeting which was cancelled for this year, but this meeting has a similar 'discipline-profile' with sprints & hurdles dominating the programme; Some decent fields for the track events and amongst those competing are Sprunger, Tortu, Jacobs, Zahi, Pinto & Lieke Klaver
        • Music City Distance Carnival (Nashville, TN, USA) - On late for us but it's on YouTube so it's easy to watch later; Good fields assembled here; EDIT : Coverage was poor - see post below
        Sunday
        • #TrueAthletes Classics (Leverkusen, GER) - Likely only 10-15 mins highlights of this but it is a small programme of events at this meeting
        • Memoriał Wiesława Maniaka (Szczecin, POL) - After the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial left this intimate little stadium for that big, flash venue in Chorzów this meeting sprung up in its place; And what a super little meeting it was last year! Not as strong this year but still not bad; Some highlights - Jessie Knight & Lina Nielsen in the 400H vs Linkiewicz, in the W 800 Bell, Tracey, Cichocka, Sabat & Bello, in the M 1000 Dustin, Botterill, Rozmys & Sasinek
        Monday
        • Memoriał Władysława Komara & Tadeusza Ślusarskiego (Międzyzdroje, POL) - Men's Pole Vault meeting
        • Meeting Internazionale Sport Solidarietà (Lignano Sabbiadoro, ITA) - Usually a good meeting; Again not as strong as usual years but still some decent international fields here. Ama Pipi in the 400 & Lucy-Jane Matthews in the 100H
There's a few reasons for the Finnish Championships being 4 days long ...
        1) there's large numbers of entries in all events and all the field events have qualification rounds
        2) there's 10,000m races as well as race walks. The Women's 10,000 isn't the highest quality but Johanna Peiponen is a fun runner to watch - small but quite ungainly and gritty. Camilla Richardsson is also entered as is a very successful cross-country runner of the late 1990s, now aged 43 and with a new and unfamiliar surname.
As for the men's 10,000, given the woeful state of Finnish men's distance running compared to the past, Finnish fans might be quite relieved that it's on the first day (and so it's not being broadcast live)!
        3) they also include the multi-events. In the heptathlon they have a couple of rising stars - Maria Huntington (British Dad!) & Miia Sillman - over 6300 & 6200 points respectively.

Anyway, all the links & details at https://www.dropbox.com/s/fdnlb49qy8...08-17.odt?dl=0

Next major post on Tuesday evening for 2 Wednesday meetings - the Gyulai István Memorial (WACT Gold) in Hungary and the meeting formerly known as the European Athletics Festival/Bydgoszcz Cup but now renamed the Irena Szewińska Memorial.

        • The 10,000s at the Swedish Championships are being live streamed after all (on a different platform). I've added them to the document above, creating a new entry for them below the entry for the Swedish Championships because that entry is already quite "busy".

          • Startlists for today's meeting in Szczecin have been added to the latest document, as well as some detail regarding this meeting to the post above.

Also, entry lists for Monday's meeting in Lignano Sabbiadoro have been added to the document since I first posted it.

If you've yet to watch it, be advised that the coverage of the Music City Distance Carnival is pretty poor. In an effort to reduce staff for safety reasons they got their priorities wrong, employing an trackside interviewer but leaving the camerawork to unmanned cameras that used sensors.
My tolerance for less-than-optimal streams is pretty high but this was too much even for me so I'll just check the results later.

            • Live streams/broadcasts for Wednesday 19th August:

A very nice afternoon/evening of athletics! The broadcasts of these 2 meetings clash but both will be available on-demand for later viewing.

              Wednesday
              • Gyulai István Memorial (Székesfehérvár, HUN) - WACT Gold meeting; Lots of Europe's top athletes competing as well as a few Americans & Africans; 8 or 9 Brits entered
              • Irena Szewińska Memorial - Bydgoszcz Cup (Bydgoszcz, POL) - WACT Bronze meeting; Many of the events are pretty good; Various Brits competing, chief among them Laura Muir in the 8 and Jemma Reekie in the 15

              • Live streams/broadcasts for Saturday 22nd August to Monday 24th August:

Haven't got time for many "meeting notes" tonight. Also, on Sunday I will be busy all day so won't be able to post any late updates for Sunday events.

                Saturday to Sunday
                • Memoriał Zygmunta Szelesta (Warsaw, POL) - Javelin & Multi-events meeting
                • German Combined Events Championships (Vaterstetten, GER)
                • Swiss U23 & U20 Championships (Frauenfeld, SUI)
                Saturday
                • Big Friendly #5 (West Coast venue TBA, USA) - M 800, 1500 & 3000 and W 800 & 5000; Taking place in the early hours
                • Memoriał Edwarda Listosa (Oleśnica, POL)
                Sunday
                • Ed Murphey Classic (Memphis, TN, USA) - good mid-distance meeting (800 & 1500); In 2018 the coverage was good but last year it was awful ... so this year, who knows?
                • Seiko Golden Grand Prix (Tokyo, JPN) - WA Continental Tour Gold; Just Japanese & Japanese-based athletes this year; Most of the races over 200m are in the first 2 hours of the meeting which I think might only be on the Japanese TV stream
                • Birchfield Harriers Club Challenge (Nuneaton, GBR)
                • BAUHAUS-Galan - Stockholm Diamond League (SWE)

                • Trofeo Diputación de Castellón - Memorial José Antonio Cansino (Castellón, ESP)

Looks like a decent meeting with a number of top Spaniards and also top junior Mariana Machado (POR) in the 1500.

I'll be posting links this evening for the 2 meetings tomorrow.

                    • BMC Gold Standard Meeting (Trafford) - M + W 800, 1500 & 3000; The Women's 800m 'A' race is probably the highlight with Hodgkinson, Baker, Mari Smith & Hartigan
                    • Janusz Kusocinski Memorial (Chorzów, POL) - WA Continental Tour Silver; Really good international fields for some of the events. The M & W 800 in particular are loaded.

There's also the possibility of streaming for Saturday evening's Meeting Toni Bonet in Ibiza which features some very strong Spanish fields in the distance races as well as Yulimar Rojas.

                      Friday to Sunday
                      • Italian Championships (Padova, ITA) - 800m is the longest distance on the programme - I'll have to check whether there's a separate date for the longer distances
                      • Polish Championships (Włocławek, POL) - there's the possibility of live streaming for the events outside the TV windows (it's not that many events TBH) - if so, I'll add in the links
                      Saturday to Sunday
                      • Ukrainian Championships (Lutsk, UKR)

                      • Göteborg GP (Gothenburg, SWE) - WA Continental Tour Bronze; Pretty good meeting, especially for the 800m and above; 15 Brits due to compete including 2 of our very promising teenagers
                      • Meeting nacional Toni Bonet (Ibiza, ESP) - Really good, largely domestic fields plus Yulimar Rojas
                      • ?? French 10,000m Championships (Pace, FRA) - streaming not confirmed yet but it has been in the past
All the links & details at https://www.dropbox.com/s/1kzampiob4...08-30.odt?dl=0

Next major post on Tuesday evening for possibly 4 meetings including the Lausanne DL and Thursday's Meeting de Marseille (these 2 both confirmed).

                          • It seems that the middle section of today's Marseille meeting is being covered on a programme called L'Equipe d'Estelle. Therefore, it looks like the coverage will be more or less continuous from 3.45pm until 7.35pm and it shouldn't be necessary to switch streams at 5.05pm as I originally thought.

They fooled me with the words, "Special emmision, Meeting de Marseille" and a picture of a track! I've since realised though that this middle section of the meeting is just regional/national level races so no great loss.
