Swiss meet tonight is on YT - it’s very good, would recommend. Proper racing, not just Olympic-standard athletes beating up local nobodies.Comment

Also added above is the Team Boss Colorado Mile.
Yeah, good meeting. And not a pacemaker in sight! Not even in the non-championship 800s at the start of the meeting. Good to see a few athletes from Italy, Germany, France etc making the trip over the border too.Comment

Live streams for Monday 29th June to Tuesday 30th June:
Monday
5000m races at Boysen Memorial (Oslo, NOR) - Elderbrigtsen & Sondre Moen in the 'A' race (this race live on NRK TV stream)
Tuesday
Boysen Memorial (Oslo, NOR) - Littlebrigtsen & Middlebrigtsen in the 800m
Not confident that the coverage will be great quality. It's the local athletics club's stream and their previous ones have been a bit limited.
EDIT : Watching Day 1, the Facebook stream wasn't bad actually. No on-screen clock but the stadium clock is easily visible just past the finish line. No on-screen results either.

Apparently the Lithuanian nationals are today & tomorrow, LS - not like you to miss out on a language of the ultra-obscure Balto-Slav family.Comment

It is difficult to track everything at the moment but I've checked and it seems it's the Vilnius City Sports Center Championships, not their nationals. No live stream or TV broadcast for it.
Their national federation's calendar is saying their national champs are on 7th & 8th August.Last edited by LuckySpikes; 30-06-20, 11:56.

Live streams for Thursday 2nd July to Saturday 4th July:
Thursday- TVP Sport Cup - Men's Shot Put (Warsaw, POL) - field includes Haratyk & Bukowiecki again
- Meeting Luzern (Luzern, SUI) - this is not the traditional Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern meeting which has been cancelled for 2020. No live stream but a 35 mins highlights broadcast instead - just hope it shows lots of the athletics and keeps interviews to a minimum (unlike highlights of Austrian meetings on ORF - that's why I never post those here). Anyway, there's 6 sub-2:02 women in the 800, and they're from (!!) 5 different nations
- Hokuren Distance Challenge 2020 Round 1 (Shibetsu, JPN) - see info below
- Western Championships (Hässelby, SWE) - Throws meeting; Most (all?) of Sweden's best throwers are competing, including Ståhl
- Internationales Meeting JUMP & FLY (Hechingen, GER) - LJ, PV & Discus
- Fastweb Cup (Rieti, ITA) - sprints & hurdles; Andy Pozzi, Tortu, Re, Folorunso, Bogliolo & del Ponte are amongst those due to compete
- Slovenian Athletics League (Ljubljana, SLO) - all Slovenia's top athletes are competing
This is a series of 4 high-quality meetings in 15 days in 4 different Japanese cities. The other meetings are on the 8th, 15th & 18th July. The originally planned fifth meeting has been cancelled for 2020. This first round features the 1500, 3000 & 5000 but each meeting features a different set of events so there'll also be steeplechase, 10,000m and race walks included in the other meetings in the series. Many of the races, especially 5000 and 10,000, usually have very deep fields. That's certainly the case for some races in Round 2 next Wednesday.
At this Saturday's meeting there's a number of Japanese-based Kenyans competing, including Ronald Kwemoi & Justus Sogot in the 1500. On the domestic side, Japan's 2 brightest young female distance stars are both competing in the 1500, under-distance for them both. Distance fans will probably already know of 20yo Nozomi Tanaka - U20 World Champ at 3000m & Doha 5000m finalist, 15:00.01 PB. But, there's also 19yo Ririka Hironaka who set a 15:05.40 U20NR last December and, 2 weeks earlier, at the Queen's Ekiden she smashed the Stage 1 course record (7km) by 18s (no mean feat). Hironaka has been very, very good for a long time - a month before her 16th birthday she ran 9:00 & 15:42! Either of them could beat Kayoko Fukushi's 14:53 NR sometime soon.
The Japanese Federation's live streams are good but there's no on-screen clock, so bring your own stopwatch!
I've also got my eye out for live streams of a couple of other events this weekend and will add them here if they materialise.

Seemingly Andrew Pozzi is going in the hurdles in Rieti, first major Brit name to get out of his garden onto an actual track since March.Comment

It's becoming a bumper weekend by 2020 summer standards!
3 more events added to the roster:
a) Duplantis vs Lisek is part of a good PV & LJ meeting in Gothenburg on Swedish TV - EDIT : Removed details of this event - website requires paid subscription
b) A good Swedish throws meeting
c) A 2-day Slovenian meeting - all of Slovenia's best are competing here; Good previews with prominent names boldedLast edited by LuckySpikes; 04-07-20, 13:52.Comment

Two after-the-fact live streams have been added to the most recent document at the bottom of pages 1 and 2 respectively:
Sat 4 Jul Czech Super League (Prague, CZE) - most of the best Czech athletes turn out for their Super League meetings; The Czech Federation does a nice job with their live streams
Sun 5 Jul The Big Friendly: Oregon Track Club vs Pete Julian's crew (Portland, OR, USA) - 3 mid-distance races, includes Brazier & Klosterhalfen

Live streams/broadcasts for Wednesday 8th July to Friday 10th July:
Wednesday- Hokuren Distance Challenge 2020 Round 2 (Fukugawa, JPN) - M + W 5000 & 10,000 and W 3000SC & 3000; some good fields here; Nozomi Tanaka is, I imagine, targeting Kayoko Fukushi's 3000m NR of 8:44.40 (see the post below for what happened when she attempted that last year)
- Jyväskylä Games (Jyväskylä, FIN) - first of the 4 meeting Motonet GP series; Guess which 3 women are competing in the 100 Hurdles?!
- Karlstad GP (Karlstad, SWE) - World Continental Tour Bronze meeting; On Vinco Sport; A while ago this was recast as a Sweden vs Norway match but it seems they then ditched that idea; A decent meeting in the circumstances; Duplantis vs Lisek and the W 800 should be a highlight - Eykens, Hynne, Kuivisto, Hermannson & Lindh
- TVP Sport Cup - M + W High Jump (Warsaw, POL) - taking place in a TV studio!
- Weltklasse Zürich Inspiration Games (Zurich, SUI) - live on the Red Button channel or 1 hour highlights on BBC on Saturday
- DSC-Abendsportfest (Dresden, GER) - the headline names competing are Christin Hussong, Rebekka Haase, and Max Heß starting his comeback
Next major post on Friday evening although this coming weekend looks very sparse at the moment.Last edited by LuckySpikes; 10-07-20, 00:18.Comment

As I referenced above ...
In the Kitami leg of the Hokuren Distance Challenge last year, Nozomi Tanaka was attempting to break Kayoko Fukushi's 3000m NR of 8:44.40.
All was going well up to 2 laps to go - she'd passed through 2000m bang on 8:45 schedule so with her nifty kick she'd surely beat the record ...
Then watch what happened ... As they say on the telly, we pick the race up with just over 2 laps to go - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok440um-pcY&t=5h20m49s (she's in the red kit, bib 289)
With about 425m to go she seemed to realise what she'd done!
In the end she was 4 seconds outside the record.Last edited by LuckySpikes; 07-07-20, 17:25.Comment

If, like me, the Jyväskylä Games is blocked for you during live transmission even with a VPN/Hola, it SHOULD be possible to watch it on-demand after the broadcast finishes (at the same link and with a VPN.) At least it was possible the last time this happened (a few weeks ago.)Comment

Late change to the BBC Red Button schedule - tonight's Inspiration Games are now live at 7pm - 8.30pm.Comment

Late afternoon today (Friday) there is another live stream ... for the DSC-Abendsportfest in Dresden, Germany. Rather than create another document for it, I've added it to the most recent document which you'll find 4 posts above.
The headline names competing are Christin Hussong, Rebekka Haase, and Max Heß starting his comeback.
Sportdeutschland's live streams are good so the coverage is highly likely to be much better than it was for the sprints meeting in Dresden a few weeks ago.Comment

Live streams for Saturday 11th July to Sunday 12th July:
Bit of a quiet weekend ... (although you can watch German athletics on Saturday for 10+ hours if you really want!)
Saturday- Bowerman Track Club 5000s (Portland, OR, USA) - American Record attempt expected by both Shelby Houlihan & Karissa Schweizer (Houlihan holds it with 14:34.45); Marc Scott is amongst those going for a fast time in the men's; The live stream is subscription-only (USATF.tv/RunnerspacePlus) but on-demand videos will be available and free-to-watch from 8pm
- #backontrack-Meeting (Dortmund, GER) - under normal circumstances this meeting wouldn't be included here for "quality of fields reasons"; however, many of the fields aren't that bad and they look competitive
- Tag der Überflieger - special edition 2020 (Essen-Überruhr, GER) - HJ, LJ & TJ; some decent fields including Mateusz Przybylko, Falk Wendrich, Neele Eckhardt & Jessie Maduka; 2 separate streams for HJ & Horizontal jumps - the HJ stream is good coverage but the Horizontal Jumps stream isn't so good
Next major post on Monday eve/Tuesday morn for a fairly packed midweek, expecting the following live streams/broadcasts:
Tuesday - Grand Prix Tábora (CZE)
Wednesday - Hokuren Distance Challenge Rd 3 (JPN) & the Lahti Games (FIN)
Thursday - Meeting Internazionale Città di Savona (ITA), Memorial Matica Šušteršiča in Patrika Cvetana (SLO) & TVP Sport Cup Pole Vault (POL)Last edited by LuckySpikes; 12-07-20, 10:34.Comment
